Me Before You (2016)
and I was left in tears.
I'm fifteen. I rarely cry during films, (and when I do it's at most just my eyes watering up a bit) but this movie actually made me cry. I don't particularly like romance films, don't get me wrong I love a good romance, but there are so many cliche and corny romances out there. While there were a few cliche moments, I honestly loved this movie. It's heartbreaking, and left me happy, yet sad at the same time. I loved almost all of the characters, and the familiar and loveable actors and actresses I recognized during the film made me love them more. The same actors and actresses that played Finnick Odair, Daenerys Stormborn, Tywin Lannister, Neville Longbottom, the list goes on! I haven't read the book yet, but it's definitely in my Amazon cart. It's definitely worth a watch!
Lolita (1962)
It's not a horror, but still makes my skin crawl.
I honestly cant believe "Lolita" is considered a romance. Why is everyone praising this film?? Its about a middle aged man, having sex this FOURTEEN YEAR OLD. It doesn't matter if she was into it, this is straight up pedophilia, and left me disgusted. Stanley Kubrick is brilliant but this movie is just- wrong on so many levels.
Lolita (1997)
Disgusted to know this movie is labeled as a "romance."
I enjoyed the movie. Atleast when Lolita, the 12 year old girl isn't being stared down like she's meal. While some people call it being "madly in love", I would call it pedophilia. Lolita was young and stupid, I was so glad when she realized how wrong it was to be with him, and escaped him.
The Starving Games (2013)
"I want this backpack!"
As a 14 year old, I'm a huge parody fan. My top favorites are mostly Mel Gibson films (Spaceballs, Robin Hood:Men In Tights). I get why most adults wouldn't find this very funny, and I honestly think it's meant for a teen audience to find the comedy in it. This movie was pretty funny, not in my top 5s but probably at bottem of my top 10s list. Most of the jokes weren't as funny, but I ended up have a quite a few good laughs.
Hansel & Gretel Get Baked (2013)
Oh. My. God.
I saw this movie, and found myself laughing at the title. I started watching it think it would be a dumb comedy, which was honestly what I was looking for, and had a few laughs. Well that was before the witch cut Gretels boyfriend, Astons leg off. This movie went from teens getting high, to brutal murdering. It I didn't have a strong stomach, I probably wouldn't have made it through this film, haha. I honestly don't regret watching this.
