The Longest fight scenes in movie history
30 January 2007
This movie started out with a decent underlying premise after a faltering first 30 minutes during which I nearly turned it off. I wish I had. It no sooner developed a human interest perspective when it turned into one never-ending fight scene after another. I like action movies as much as the next person, but geez, 5-10 minute fights are WAY over the top and nearly 1-1/2 hours of the movie was just that.

I always thought it was ridiculous in movies where the bad guy can shoot at the good guy 15 times and always miss, then the good guy takes them out with one shot. However, all movies should have some reality and no matter how good a martial artist you are, Thai fighter or not, no one can kick over 100 butts and still walk away. If I had seen this at the movies, I would have asked for my money back.

Awe-inspiring!!!!
2 February 2004
I really cannot summarize this documentary in one word. I was awe-struck, elated, saddened...this movie has so many emotional experiences in one 90-minute time frame that I am completely overwhelmed by it. The cinematography is so outstanding it is nearly unbelievable. That same cinematography is behind much of the emotional upheaval of this documentary. Some of the vistas and scenery are so breathtaking that you might just find yourself crying from the joy of looking at something so beautiful.

The musical score for this movie is half the experience. I don't think the movie would have been the same at all without it. The movie speaks to your heart, but the music speaks to your soul. The birds themselves are stunning and you feel their complete freedom, as well as the effort it takes to fly these tremendous distances, all based on the instinct of survival. Not all survive, and you will feel the sadness and pain of the sacrifices made along the arduous trip.

I happen to be a bird lover, but I don't think you need to be one to fully appreciate this movie. It is so much more than just about birds, it's the life, struggle and survival of all wild creatures who follow their instincts. If you see this movie, and I think everyone should, you will come away from it with a greater feel and respect for nature and it's struggles, as well as it's magnificent beauty. And I, for one, believe that respect will make each of us a better person.

I give this movie a 10.

Excellent, heart-warming movie!!
19 October 2003
I think this is one of the most heart-warming movies I've seen. The fact that it's suitable for the whole family is a plus.

Everyone already knows the plot, so I won't go into that. I found this movie to be entertaining from the very beginning and never felt a dull moment in it.

There was one thing I found confusing...when they brought the lion, we all assumed that the giraffe was included as well, but it apparently was not, since we didn't see it again.

The only fault I found with the movie was the timeline. The movie states that the two uncles went to Europe as young men and arrived around the time Germany invaded France (1940) and were gone 40 years. If this were so, it would be 1980 or so when they returned to Texas. This movie begins in what appears to be the late 50's to early 60's, judging from the cars and attire, so the timeline is rather skewed.

This is a big booboo to me, but I thought the movie was so endearing, so entertaining, and so well acted, I can look past the timeline due to the sheer delight of the movie.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is truly a "Magical" experience!
24 November 2001
The movie was true to the book, which nearly everyone on the planet has read, so I don't think it's necessary to recap the story for everyone...just suffice it to say that I was entranced for two and a half hours and was hoping all the time that it wouldn't end.

I am middle aged, but this is a movie for every man, woman and child and I encourage everyone to go see it!!!
