The acting is so so from all the characters. The Hillary Swank character to me was an annoying cold hearted reporter that stopped at nothing to get what she wanted and further herself in the world. Her Alaska native partner is just annoying. Neither characters are lovable or someone one feels compelled to root for and cheer on. The cynical, bitter, hard as nails personality from them is a major turnoff. And sorry to say, the meat and potatoes of its plot is a message and story thats gotten used far too often in the world today. It's rehashed every episode. Its gotten to the point where the plot and the pitches made from this series has become burnt-out and just a broken record. Would I watch season 2? Unlikely.

The jokes miss the mark

I sat down in the evening and watched it with my family, looking for a laugh. I don't think anyone of us laughed during the 22 minutes of the show. Jokes missed the mark almost every time and the acting was brutal from George Lopez. His character is this unlikable obnoxious, rude older man he always is. His jokes are just blah. I don't see how this was a comedy even. The daughter is not much better in jokes and came off as annoying. Honestly I didn't find it humorous and couldn't get into it. Wouldn't watch it again. I really wanted to like it but I found no characters lovable or anything to sympathize or relate to in this sitcom.
