I kid you not! In titanic, you have to sit through the whole movie to see the boat sink. Not in this movie! It sinks right away! I need 463 more characters so here are the lyrics to Ebony and Ivory:

Besides her, the show is alright. I just don't understand what Halo has to do with this annoying person and why the focus on her all the time. Master chief should have never rescued her.

The flack it got. Sure the acting is wooden quite a bit. Reminds me of 50s acting for some reason and the sword and sorcery bit where some knowhere dude saves the princess and gets to ... But who cares! It is a fun ride and the hypersonic dog is pretty hilarious. He's always somewhere in the background.

An interesting story with nice visuals, turned into a cheap alien knockoff with dramatic/romantic flashbacks nobody cares for. Why do people put these flashbacks scenes right in the middle of an some action sequence? It totally kills the momentum/suspense of the movie. So then one of the astronauts is the cure to the whatever virus. Then it goes into nonsensical plot backward in time. Whoever wrote the review saying Ridley Scott's alien is crap compared to this is totally out of their mind or a friend tied to the moviemaker. It's most likely a bit of both. Missed opportunity here!

Some questions not really answered especially after a sequel. And why is the kid so stupid like that? It's like 'don't put your hand on the stove' and the damn idiot does it.

Anyway still a nice atmosphere even if it's more or less the same as the 1st one.

The movie is not good nor bad. Feels to me like this could have developed into more than one movie but they crammed everything into one. Plenty of things left unexplained (from plot to characters).

U know that when one movie comes out before it is scheduled for release, it means it's pretty bad.

The rest of the reviews pretty much echo my sentiment but one scene in particular made me laugh out loud. Around 44:48 the group in the forest get confronted by another group and one of the members says "what's going on, wtf is happening" and then girl from the other group asks him to say something so he can prove he is human cuz alien don't talk or so. But he just talked to her saying what the F is going. hahaha

Anyway the movie is riddled with stuff like this. Couldn't finish it it was too atrocious.

The only thing that wasn't bad was the camera's quality and the fx. The rest is totally Elephant dung.

A Cold Night's Death (1973 TV Movie)

Really good

Worth a watch. Some things left unexplained but it doesn't really matter. The moral of the story is what's interesting here. The musical score is superb and really adds to the overall tension of the movie.

I would put this movie in the same category as Phase IV in terms of mood.

I'm guessing the one defending the movie in the reviews is a friend of the filmmaker or somebody in the movie. 7/10 no way.

The fx are ok but the acting is just horrible which really ruins the movie. I'm not talking about Dee Wallace which is a seasoned actress but the rest is freaking horrible. Even Vernon Wells at the beginning when the dude shoots it's own head off. His reaction is just plain laughable.

And the plot? Well...

The director must have a lot of friends who put in a good review cuz this movie is totally nonsensical. Bad acting (especially Jim Cummings), overacting and not funny at all. Razzie award for sure.

Really not my thing. I didn't even finish the 1st episode as it was utterly dragging and not funny at all.

Maybe some will appreciate the show but no thanks I'd rather watch Plan 9 from outer space.

Star Trek: Discovery: Die Trying (2020) Season 3, Episode 5

Drama again

Have to agree with one of the reviewers said that it's 5 episodes in and no progress to the main story. I really love the 1st episode, it was really exciting and from there every episodes as gone downhill to drama and filler episodes. This is basically a soap opera in sci-fi backdrop.

I saw some previews from the next episode and seemed pretty good. Let's hope it is cuz I'll never see the end of the season.

Plot spoil ahead move along:

Saw this a while back but I was totally disappointed with how it turned out. I mean loved the Prometheus and the end was a exciting cuz it seemed to announce a bigger adventure with exciting question answered but that's not what happened. Dr. Shaw is dead (loved her character), the damn robot wiped out the engineers and he's responsible for the Alien strand as we know it. I mean what???? Ridiculous dumbed down alien story. None of the questions raised by the 1st movie (prometheus) are really answered with satisfaction.

I mean it's not a bad movie in itself but as a follow up to the alien mytho. It's the dumbest plot point ever. I hope Ridley corrects that in the next movie.

The Walking Dead: World Beyond (2020–2021)

This show could have been good but it's just basically teen drama in a zombie setting. Have nothing against the cast. I think they do a fine job but whoever came up with the pacing/story on the episodes should retire. The show has constant annoying flashbacks about the characters nobody cares about and it totally breaks the momentum on any tense situation they are in. I hope they fix this or that it gets better but so far. Meh!!!

Go watch Fear the walking dead. The new season is great.

It's a decent thriller maybe a little botched with some over-acting and some parts that drag a bit. I'm sure they would get back to the editing and just fix the pacing cuz it seems unequal to me. Still for something with a small budget like that, it's good work but just needs refining. Good job!

Star Trek: Picard (2020–2023)

I guess most of the bad reviews I've seen so far are from the super ultra-conservative star trek close-minded purist fanboys. They are easy to spot cuz they compare this to TOS or other series in the ST universe.

Myself I always liked startrek but I didn't really went in thinking it had to adhere to the startrek formula. Change is good and sometimes people react badly to it out of fear from their little comfort zone.

It is a good show and I suggest going in and to be open-minded about it. I think it deserves a chance.

The Mandalorian (2019– )

Superb show

This totally feels like a new hope. There's no over the top CGI like in the movies and it feels natural. Disney doesn't know what the Star Wars fan want but Jon Favreau does. You can tell he is a mega-fan of the series. Best show in a long time! Bravo Jon and the crew.

It's pretty much a sequel to the original. Much darker in tone and that's the way I always envisioned it. I think there are a bunch of versions of this with some scenes added and product placement. Try and find the english dubbed version of it with no alteration to the plot.

I really liked titans but this show is awesome. I didn't expect this. Actually I expected nothing but it's definitely not the case. If you like weird surreal stuff, this is it. Great cast to top it off.

I was a bit surprised with the movie. I really love sci-fi but many times, lower budget sci-fi tend to suck. (higher budget too haha). However there are some gems that come out from time to time and this is one. Don't expect lots of action although there is some. What's interesting here is the story which I liked and the atmosphere. I also like the picture quality and the acting which is a big selling point for any movie no matter the budget. bad acting/bad editing = bad movie.

All in all this is a movie about unexpected bonds in an hostile world.

Star Wars: Wrath of the Mandalorian (2008 Video)

Started nice but then the acting and script ruined it. From watching this we can deduce that the Jedi are complete morons/weaklings and look like a bunch of geeks.

A blinded Han Solo kills Boba Fett in ROTJ and gets easily captured by Dartth Vader in Empire strikes back. But in this movie Boba Fett almost kicks Darth Vader's arse.
