8 Mile (2002)

Lose yourself in this film!
6 August 2003
8 Mile is loosely based on Eminem aka Marshall Mathers life and experiences. Eminem portrays the character of Jimmy, who is an aspiring rapper, hoping to make it in the big time.

The cast includes the main man himself as well as Mekhi Pfiefer, Brittany Murphy and Kim Bassinger. As well as these stars, Xzibit and Eminem's right man, Proof, make guest appearances, alongside newcomer Obie Trice.

Eminem shows himself to be an extremely talented actor as he portrays the part of Jimmy amazingly well, showing the characters drive and thirst for fame, while fighting through the hard times of his life.

All of the songs from the films soundtrack fall under the Hip-Hop genre and fit alongside the film remarkably well. Eminem wrote three of these songs, while taking on the persona of his character Jimmy, and writing them from his point of view. This shows us that the man is simply a genius and should be applauded for his all of his hard work.

Many people have commented on the film because of it's so-called poor ending, but I feel that they have forgotten that this is a realistic drama, not a fairy tale.

Jonathan Mostow is a genius!
3 August 2003
This is, without a doubt, definitely the best and biggest film of 2003. All of those people who doubted Jonathan Mostow should be ashamed of themselves, I know I am. This film completely blew me away.

Arnold plays the part as T - 100 even better than he did the last two times It seem like there is no stopping this man - he just keeps on getting better and better!

Nick Stahl portrays John Connor, in the way that you would imagine a young man with so much stress on his shoulders to be like. Jonathan Mostow has to be applauded for bringing this talented young actor into such a big movie for all us young ladies to dribble over.

Kristanna Loken, who is a little scary I must admit, is amazing at playing a new, more advanced, terminator model, named TX, who is trying to kill John Connor. She only has a few lines in the film (like six), but I feel that this scares the audience even more as she has to act simply through her facial expressions. Again, Jonathan Mostow has done a great job in casting when he introduced us to this former model.

All I have left to say is that the special effects in T3 are the way that special effects should be, they are not fake like in The Lord Of The Rings or Harry Potter. Instead they are simply mind blowing, as well as the stunts.

So if you are going to see a film this year, I would strongly recommend Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines.

Hollyoaks (1995– )
Deals with real life, in a humourous way...
15 May 2003
Hollyoaks deals with the trials and tribulations that many teenegers/early twenty year olds do. Instead of simply concentrating on the boring stuff, like school or college, Hollyoaks adds a more interesting and fun way to telling the stories. Sub stories like murders, sexuality, family problems and pub life are shown to make the programme more realsitic to student life.

Hollyoaks is not noticed enough like other programmes, but it is definately much more funner!

The Guru (2002)

Like 'Moulin Rouge' - but MUCH funnier!
12 September 2002
This film did not appeal to me when I saw the trailer, but it actually turned out to be one of the best films that I have seen this year. Heather Graham was hysterical to watch in this comedy film, which concentrates on a man pretending to be a Guru Of Sex.' I would highly recommend this film to anyone who has a sense of humor as it will have you on the floor with laughter!
