Live Show (2000)
Despite The Controversy
When Live Show was first released in local cinemas, it created a huge controversy and it was even pulled out of cinemas (I think). It was only recently when I got the chance to watch it and I thought it's just gonna be another nonsense Filipino sexual movie. But no, the movie was actually good. It really showed how poverty is affecting our country and the dialogs and situations were so real that it's really an eye opener. R-18 scenes do not depict malice or perversion at all. I kinda sympathize with their situation and realizing how hard it must be for them doing that. If you want a break from those "tweetums" movie that the local cinemas are overflowing with and want a movie where it's in-your-face then watch this movie.
Megiddo: The Omega Code 2 (2001)
Not Christian enough!
I watched Megiddo out of curiosity. It seemed interesting especially me being a catholic. I thought that it'll be a piture of what the armageddon would be. I expected to be terrified, terrified that I would change my current indifferent attitude towards the religion my parents chose for me when I was born. Well... If the end of days is going to be something like THAT then I better look out for a trying hard, pychotic-who-wants-to-own-everything kind of guy and make sure that in order to be saved, I won't believe in him.
The movie is entertaining but it is not seriously depicting the content of the bible. The movie just literally translated what is written. It's the type of movie I would use to scare children to eat their vegetables and not to promote world peace.
Dama de noche (1998)
Yeah right!
oh puhleez, the movie sux. I mean come on the plot is so old. I must've seen a zillion filipino movies with that plot. The movie is so predictable that you don't have to watch it. Just go and watch the trailer and there's you're whole story. I just don't understand why directors here cannot think of a different story. I've seen this kind of thing not only in movies but also on TV. And why does it all has to have sex scenes in it to ensure that it will hit in the box office? Are we all sex-crazed people? Are the majority of us maniacs?
Stand by Me (1995)
It's funny, no make that hilarious!!!!
It's not exactly a movie, more of a music video. It's funny, no make that hilarious!!!! I loved it the first time I saw it and well although what Timon and Pumbaa are doing has nothing to do with the song, it just shows that if they can still be friends no matter what.
