The Death of Richie (1977)
A super movie
I have seen this movie many times. (I recorded it off TV). It really does show what dope can do to you and your family. If you ever get a chance to see it SEE IT!!. It'll be worth every minute. Benson and Gazzara give off true Oscar performances. They would have got my vote as best actor and supporting if it had been a theatrical released movie and up for nominations.
Mrs. Doubtfire (1993)
an english accent????
Well tell me what you people in imdb land think. Does Robin Williams do an english or a scottish accent on Mrs. Doubtfire. I think it's scottish. I'm enlish and I should know an english accent when I hear one. William's acting talents are really magnified here. I think he's brilliant as Mrs. Doubtfire. Every bit as much as Dustin Hoffman was in Tootsie, maybe more so.
M*A*S*H: Goodbye, Farewell and Amen (1983)
Terrific movie. Certainly one of the very best.
Everytime I see this tv-movie I can't help but get emotional. I'm sure Alda, Farrell, Swit, et. al. felt the way their characters felt when it was time to say goodbuy. Working 11 years together!!. It was about the best tv show ever. I still watch the re-runs. I wish there was a way to buy the DVD version. I'd do it no matter what the cost. If Hawkeye and Margaret's goodbuy kiss wasn't the longest in movie history it certainly rates as one of the longest.
The Phantom of the Opera (1962)
One of the best, some major changes though.
This was one of the best, but it really bothered me that it strayed so far from other versions. It takes place in Victorian London rather than Paris, and the Phantom has a totally different death scene at the end. What happened to the famous "Chandelier" scene? Christine Charles instead of Dae?? Anyway, a very good movie. I'd rate this about an 8 out of 10. Those sets in the underground certaintly look like the original sets from 1925!.
Young Frankenstein (1974)
Brook's best comedy!
For sure Mel Brook's best work. I think Madelyn Kahn stole every scene she was in. I would think that she should have received a best supporting actress nomination, or win at best. The cinamatography was wonderful. Was that really Feldman playing that horn-like contraption?
