Highly Entertaining

Brilliant film, this is how an action movie should be. This has no good storyline, the acting isn't too great and there a no computer generated effects but this movie is purely entertaining, which is what movies are all about. Well at least action movies. The action is non - stop and over the top all the way through with great one liners thrown in every now and again too keep you laughing the whole way. I wish they would make movies like they did int the 80's again. Bad Boys 2, Crank and XXX were all great movies and are my favourite action flicks from the 2000's but they come nowhere close to this in terms of replay value and good laughs.

Surprisingly Good Movie
3 January 2008
I found the DVD of this in a bargain bin and decided to pick it up as i have an interest in football and enjoy English films. I was expecting an average film but was really surprised. The characters were likable and funny (i don't mean to say beating people up makes a likable character i meant that they're good mates that value friendships, camaraderie, enjoy a laugh and a beer etc etc i guess i can relate to that), the story was well paced and enjoyable, the soundtrack was great, and the fighting scenes weren't too graphically violent or prolonged which suited me just fine. I don't know what else to say rather than that i was entertained and satisfied by this story (im a fan of movies which tell you what happens to all the characters at the end). A Little similar to trainspotting and lock stock, both of which i think are superb films. So if you like those be sure to check this out.

Definitely glad i picked it up seen it a few times and is a DVD to re-watch every now and again, very nice movie.

Great Soundtrack, Boring Movie
21 December 2007
Ian Curtis made some excellent music with Joy Division but the story of his life doesn't really make for an entertaining or exciting film. Joy Division fans and most music fans will know Ian wrote emotional and dark lyrics, had a unique dance style, had epilepsy, cheated on his wife and hung himself this movie portrays all this but is very boring and doesn't really do much else. If you want to see and hear his music on film or check out the dance moves just type in Joy Division on Youtube. The black and white did suit this movie and the acting and soundtrack was superb (it'd be pretty damn hard to make a film about joy division and have a bad soundtrack anyway)but the story is just so uninteresting. The film about factory records 24 Hour Party People is much better. Even though Joy Division make up a small part of the film and the actor doesn't really look like Ian as a movie it is a lot more entertaining and interesting.
