Diary of the Dead (2007)

Unimpressive

I have been waiting awhile to see this and was quite disappointed with it. Now I am a huge fan of the Dead series that Romero created I wish there were more films to the series. However this movie really disappointed me. I was wondering about bothering to watch this when I heard this movie would be made like Cloverfield was, but I decided Romero would impress me more then the guys who made Cloverfield. Guess I was wrong.

To start with the acting was lame, even when Romero had low budget movies before at least the acting was good enough to bear. The lines in the movie were cheesy but I have noticed that the lines usually are in a Romero movie.One thing that bothered me is the point of view idea that seems to becoming more common.I don't know about anybody else but I like knowing about a broader view of the action not just what one person experiences . With what I have seen when movies are made with the point of view I would think the movie would try to make things so the characters are more relate able and a person can get better insight into the characters thoughts and mind.This chance does not seem to be taken .

The story seems like it could have been covered better from the third person point of view and not under the narrative of the film which by the way was dull and painfully obvious at the symbolism it was trying to slap the viewer in the face with.My final problem with the movie is there was not as many zombie eating people moments as there could have been.That's one of the reasons I watch these movies for is straight out zombies eating people and zombies getting killed by people.There was just not enough of this which was a major disappointment.There was still good amounts of gore for the scenes with the killing in them though. Overall this movie just could of been better presented and should of had more zombies getting to chomp on people. Maybe people like that Romero is doing more independent filming but I love major motion pictures and this just did not appeal to me.

Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (2007 Video Game)

Excellent best Call of Duty yet

I have played just about every Call of Duty game out there and this is by far the best one. First off the visuals are excellent the visuals are truly some of the best.The look of explosions and battle worn areas in the middle east is intense.It's great to just look around(when your not getting shot at) and realize the scope of how much work was put into the game to make it look so good.

The sound is great its like they went onto an actual battlefield and recorded everything.Explosions and gunshots sound just so great its probably as best there gonna get for the moment.Voice acting was great the actors did a stand up job sounding like the characters they were.It's always great when a voice actor does a great job and makes the character more believable.

Game play is the best Call of Duty game play ever.Nothing was wrong with it unlike Call of Duty 3 which seemed to have physics to have problems as often id get stuck on a tire.Coming off that note the physics and frame rate are excellent and hardly ever falter.The controls in this game were tight and easy to learn.This COD game perfected the throw back grenade function which was first introduced in COD3.The use of a knife as a melee attack was also entertaining and to me was more believable then beating a man to death with a rifle butt.Guns seemed to be as strong as they should be and fired like they should.For once a storyline was attempted that didn't all but just make you want to skip the cut scenes as it was interesting and could draw you in.The one thing i wished there was more of was guns. There are a lot of guns there but there all kind of obvious that they would be there for example there were just about 2 million times i could of used an AK-47 i know its one of the most mass produced guns in the world but add more variety come on. Also many times i found myself forced to use an m4 assault carbine and had few chances to use an m-16 which i believe is a better gun.I found it a little odd the British S.A.S. was using the m4 and not the standard British rifle the L85 which was a gun i was really hoping to see.(I only have this problem with the campaign.) Multiplayer leaves nothing to be desired.The multiplayer is excellent its easy to just jump in and play the game and actually be good at it.There is a good variety of weapons on multiplayer and some customization to be done to the weapons.Plenty of match types that people could want or need.

All around Call of Duty is the best war game i have ever played and I've played enough of them.I own it for the ps3 and have not experienced many problems with it.Best war game out there and best COD of the series.

Street Fighter (1994)

terrible acting but decent fight scenes

The acting was terrible and cheesy, the only good actor was Raul Julia he seemed to be the only one making an effort.The lines that were said in the movie made me laugh not because they were funny as the movie intended just because it was terrible acting and the lines were really cheesy.And the odd thing is there is one guy wearing a staff sergeant insignia and he is the only wearing his insignia.I gave this movie 4 because well the fight scenes are good i wouldn't say great but good.The fight scenes are pretty good for a movie i guess if you cant act out lines and emotions you can still fight.Fight scenes seemed to be well co-ordinated.And the story,it could've been worse bad acing didn't ruin it terribly but it did not help. All in all the movie is good for the life at the cheesy acting and decently entertaining for a fight scenes.

Killzone (2004 Video Game)

Not the best FPS but maybe the best for ps2

Killzone was a game that many people were sorta back and forth about i didn't really hear about it until i heard about the trailer to its sequel so I'm guessing it got more popular from that.Killzone was a solid game the graphics were great really great and characters were detailed.Story wise though it wasn't as good as it could've been the characters weren't really developed that much and the story wasn't really flushed out i hope they fix that with the second Killzone.Gameplay was particularly good the firefights were fun there was a wide amount of weapons and they were fun to play with a few of them had cool second fire functions the controls were easy to learn and use also.People spased because there was no jump button but that was a stupid thing to complain about.Multiplayer was alright and good fun to play with friends.Soundwise it was alright not amazing but the sounds helped immerse you into the game play like all other games.Its not the best shooter but the best the ps2 has so this game is better than average.

Resident Evil 4 (2005 Video Game)

Best Resident Evil game ever no contest

Where to start with this uhh i don't know maybe the amazing story or the great graphics for a last gen system or the crazy sounds or the amazing game play.Well let me start with the story the story was just insane i loved it bringing back Leon was a good idea and the fact its set somewhere other than America so to set it when a villager says something to ya you don't understand(unless you know Spanish) that was smart.The story was top notch truly Capcoms best from what I've seen them push out.The graphics were great considered its the last gen systems ps2 and gamecube a lot of detail went into Leon and the other characters and their surroundings.The sound was really good guns sounded real enough and the voice acting was really good.And the sound of villagers far off in the distance or rain hitting the ground was damn well done.And the sound is what really helps the creepy factor because if i knew what my enemies were saying if they spoke English i wouldn't of been half as suspicious of where they were coming from or doing.Plus the chainsaw guy nearly made me crap my pants when he'd sneak up and scream and chop my head off.The game play was amazing truly amazing the idea for you to be able to purchase upgrades for your weapons was great and having a quick and easy grab at the knife was smart to.Also the A.I was actually decently intelligent they entertained me at the least.Resident Evil 4 is truly 1 of the greatest games Capcom ever put out and everyone should at least try it or own it. 10 out of 10

Gears of War (2006 Video Game)

Gears is the best xbox360 game that i have ever played

Gears Of War is the best game on xbox360 maybe even best game I've played all year.With the best graphics i have ever seen on any system.The environments and surrounding ruin of cities looks great like an actual bombed out city.The A.I. in G.O.W is decent not to great though they are kinda dumb all they do is attack and take cover.Sound is awesome on it the guns sound great and the voice acting is really good done by professionals.The story is great just too short for my liking but its well done and when the soldiers talk they talk like real soldiers would by making jokes and trying to keep the morale up.Its a little sad to say but the way the soldiers act in this fictional war game is more real than they act in a real war game(my friend in the army told me thats exactly the way him and his company act).Actual game play of G.O.W is very easy and simple to get into and the firefights you'll be having are amazing just intense fire fights with taking fire and returning fire a decent variety of weapons makes the games fire fights fun.Taking cover is crucial to game play but its not as bad as it may sound you don't have to take cover for minutes at a time there are plenty of chances to run out and gun the Locusts down.All in all this is a great game worth buying if your a shooter fan or want a fun game to play its a most own for any 360 owner if they like action games at all.
