Wild Hogs (2007)
8/10
maybe here and there a bit overplayed but it was sure funny!

Four guys in their late forties - probably more early fifties ... ;-) – go through their midlife crisis. No matter if loving, nagging or no wife, life is just not what it used to be – or ever was. Adventures are searched for, and John Travolta (not acting his best in this movie) has the saving idea for his buddies: a real road trip on their bikes instead of their usual short trip to a biker bar once a week.

Like in "City Slickers" the men have to go through some adventures and become heroes before they emerge with new energy to battle the next years of getting older ... however, the adventures these guys have on their trip are hilarious. The end slows down a bit with its predictability but this movie is very entertaining, funny and the ticket money well worth.

Ghost Rider (2007)

a B-movie with A-actors acting like in C-commercials

If it would not have been for Nicolas Cage this movie would hardly even make it in the theatres but straight to the B-movie section of your next video store. Very poor acting. Luckily Eva Mendes has a nice cleavage, which helped over a few scenes. And Nicolas Cage - great actor as he is - at least let you hope that he is going to say something noteworthy - unfortunately he disappoints. Actions scenes, special effects: been there, done that - nothing new and impressive enough to keep you alert. Mask and makeup: without any doubt very impressive - for a horror movie produced in the sixties. All together a very predictable movie with a very predictable plot that made me yawn several times.
