Black Narcissus (1947)
The greatest film of all time!
When I first saw this film, I was bowled over by its superb quality. Even now, months later, this film has acting that could knock your socks off(particularly Kathleen Byron), and rich color cinematography. Although some very small aspects are dated, this is gloriously immortalized on an excellent DVD from Criterion. GET THIS AT ALL COSTS!!!

Destination Moon (1950)
Fun space opus
This film is quite underrated. I have seen it at least 3 times on DVD and although it lacks extras(could someone please tell Universal or Image for a SE?)and good print quality, the film is so good that it is still worth having. An unheralded classic!
Hardware Wars (1978)
I laughed! I cried! I kissed 15 bucks(!)goodbye!
After buying the excellent DVD yesterday, I have become a bona fide HARDWARE WARS fan! Done as a mock trailer for an unmade film, this obscenely low-budget and obscenely funny short is a film I wish I'd seen before, and I am embarassed that at one time, for about 2 hours, I couldn't stand it. If any of you has not seen HARDWARE WARS, I suggest you do immediatement!

Duck Soup (1933)
A breakneck comedy!
This high speed comedy is arguably the Marx brothers finest film. Although Harpo is annoying at times, the film maintains a series of running gags, and thus is a fine film. A must-see for fans, plus the no-frills Image DVD does feature excellent sound.
King of Jazz (1930)
A very intriguing experience!
This film is a pioneering musical which makes extreme use of its color. Although I watched it on a TV print on which the color was a bit faded, it still retains an air of dignity. The "Rhapsody in Blue" is a marvelously stylized piece which Herman Rosse's Oscar-winning sets mark as a high point in film history. Don't miss the end.
