It wasn't that bad
17 July 2008
After seeing this movie, I was shocked by the comments. The movie wasn't that bad at all.

In the beginning I wasn't sure what to think. It was rather scary, and the plot itself made my question whether I saw this movie or not already. It reminded me of similar movies like the grudge.

But let's face it, the end was surprising and not in any way predictable.

I like the movie. I'll see it again someday.

I gave it a six because it was very entertaining, surprising, but it wont go into history as a masterpiece.

See this movie if you want to enjoy yourself, be scared, be excited and you wont regret it.

The Keyman (2001)
3/10
Waste of time
31 May 2007
Warning: Spoilers
Oh, I'm mostly not the kind of person to give a movie less than 5 points. Mostly, just because of the effort from actors and directors.

3/10 for Keyman from me. If anyone thinks the main character (or whoever) deserves an Oscar, I deserve the Nobelprize for peace.

Seriously. I can't believe this movie made it to Europe. The acting was horrible, the plot was awful and what about the '70's horror-music. Give me a break.

"Popeye" eg. What about him? Why is he there, he has nothing to do with the movie.

And what about the Keyman's talking. One time he can't say a decent word, the next time he's getting all talky-talk. He also nearly dies when he wakes up and some sunlight shines thru his bunker. But when he's walking down the street, the sunlight doesn't seem to do anything.

Watch this movie only of you're on the edge of dying of boredom. I regret myself for not watching my roses grow, which are in anyway more entertaining than this piece of...

Tangier (2006)
7/10
good enough for a Belgian
2 January 2007
Although I'm Belgian I'm not a big fan of our movies. Mostly they look indeed as TV-movies and as we live in a pretty small country, you almost see always the same actors appearing.

I hesitated before watching this movie. But after all I'm very pleased with the result. It's not the new 'midnight express' but ' De hel van Tanger' is based on a true story which shocked a greater part of Belgium.

They used the bigger actors in our country to make this movie worth while and they did a good job. (Nice to know; the movie was shoot in reverse. Because the character of Herman van Loock had to lose 35 kg.)

It might not win an Oscar, but I rate this movie a 7 because it's rather realistic and includes some good acting. If you like these types of movie or you are familiar with the 'real Herman van Loock' I would recommend it!

Jack Frost (1997 Video)
5/10
bad, but very amusing
2 January 2007
Let's be honest, the summary sounds more than silly; a serial killer, named Jack Frost, by accident transformed into a snow cone without losing his old killing habits. He ends up in a small town where's he's heading for revenge...

Not only the plot sounds awful, also the Jingle-bells-alike-tunes constantly playing and most of the acting make this absolutely a B-film.

Constantly you notice the director struggle with the plot, it seems like he doesn't know where to head for in this movie. This results in a story that starts pretty seriously but ends as a comedy. Although this all may sound really negative, I had a fun time watching this movie.

Jack Frost is without any doubt so bad it becomes funny!
