Truly awful..

Why does Woody Allen turn all his leads in to hapless clones? Timothy Chamalet doing an awkward Allen-seque impersonation is too squirmy for words. Not to mention his dipsy female lead rehashed over and over. The plot line is the 'same old same old', We've seen the neurotic man, and the same flaky woman in so many of his movies. It's totally the wrong plot line and outdated stereotypical characters for 2023. I'm right now trying to force myself to watch the last painful 20 minutes, hoping that someone will stab someone. I would even give it a 3 if Godzilla arrived munching down through Central Park.

Like it or not Woody Allen lives on in shows like this. I love that it's confronting and often awkward. I love that the women don't all look like cookie cutter Instagram models. The French choose character over glamour. The relationships are shockingly age appropriate, and the relationship troubles are real. Maybe exaggerated slightly, perhaps not.

It definitely has a 'Woody Alleness' to it in the best kind of way.
