Eat Pray Love (2010)
Food for deeper thought
I'm writing this because I want to offset some of the negativity that has been reported about this movie. I think if you have lived life for a while, you learn that not everyone is meant for each other. Many of the marriages out there are miserable failures, but it does take courage to face that and figure out what, in your heart, is really not right. This movie is about self-discovery, hearing great truths from unexpected sources, opening your mind up why you are here on earth, and learning to release control of your life. I thought it was very well done. I loved the music. I loved the scenes and the shots that capture different aspects of the various cultures. Don't watch this if you think your life is perfect and you can't imagine searching for deeper meaning in life...or if you think doing something like that is selfish or self-centered. Searching for the roots of unhappiness in life and facing this so you can be free and move on to a better life is what this is all about.
The Ten (2007)
Moronic
I walked out of this movie because my life is worth more than sitting through such crap. I can't imagine what lower life form would even think there was humor in any of this movie. It was TV humor at it's worst...all that was missing was the canned laughter. Certainly nobody in the theater was laughing. I'm not a prude...not even a Christian, so I can't say I was offended. It was just one strained "joke" after another...stupid life takes on the 10 commandments that are sadly true for some people in the real world. How can anybody laugh at tragedy? If you want to see a good movie, see Dogma. This movie should never have been made.
