Harley Quinn (2019)
Harley Quinn for the Win
I've watched almost all of the superhero shows. This one stands out for its adult humor. Very entertaining, seriously funny AF. Insane cast of voice actors, my favorites being from Seinfeld and Curb, and of course Big Bang Theory.
Good storyline and even some deep emotion
My Review would have stopped here but they require more so....
Harley's crew is a ragtag group of folks. Poison Ivy is a great character. Bane is hilarious.
I loved Gotham and so it's nice to be in the Batman universe again. There's a lot of great creativity in this show, the music is cool, and it's nice to have a superhero cartoon for adults. Great job!!!
Pennyworth (2019)
Gotham Darkness in London
This is a great show that has it all; action, humor, and of course, old school British slang. Ben Aldridge (Alfie) is just fantastic, his friend Daveboy is hilarious, and Bet Sykes is a mad riot. London lends itself perfectly to the dark mood of Gotham City. This show is a very well done prequel, showcasing the amazing lives of the Waynes and Alfred and Lucius Fox in their time before Batman.
One thing that makes this show so amazing is that it has a timeless feel. It combines mid 20th century real life historical figures, art, and music to take you into a surreal past, and makes the show more meaningful.
I totally love this show.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022)
Tripppppppyyyyyy
This is a stellar movie. Not sure why anyone would give it less than 10. Are you not entertained?
What is the point of a movie, if not to tell a story which spans multiple dimensions, pits sorcery against witchcraft, exposes the emptiness and incompleteness of our individual souls, and does so with over the top CGI?
Seriously, how could everybody not be entertained by this movie? Smoke some weed or something. You know I did.
Contact (1997)
Moving Film
This film reminds you of the most important thing about life on Earth, we are floating deep in infinite space, yet we are not alone. At times wondrous, at other times heart wrenching, this movie is a beautiful invitation to think about what it might be like to be contacted by an advanced civilization and what it might be like to make first contact. It asks the question: can science and religion intersect, are they really that different?
Planet of the Apes (1968)
So Epic
I had little knowledge of this film and its plot, other than what I had seen in Spaceballs. I had seen some of the modern remakes, but this movie was so much better. A total classic, really
makes you think. Science fiction at its finest.
Joe Versus the Volcano (1990)
Beautiful Movie
This movie is just so beautiful and makes you want to live to the fullest. The cast is very funny and eccentric. The scenery is very cool and surreal. Tom Hanks is, of course, exceptional, and Meg Ryan is, surprise, very lovable.
Night Moves (1975)
Good Movie
Gotta love Gene Hackman and a young Melanie Griffith. There's a lot of great lines in this movie, and it keeps it real. I liked the 70's music as well. Overall, it was a good watch.
Gotham (2014)
Epic Show
Amazing show with great backstories on Gotham's crazy villains. Extremely violent and dark, but highly entertaining. I couldn't stop watching, it had me on the edge of my seat. Great ending as well, before it got stale.
The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003)
Great Flick!!!
The special FX are amazing for 2003. I loved the scenery, super dark and mysterious. I was also highly entertained by the mystical cast of characters, a very eclectic mix of old fantasy stories. Just a fun ride in 1899.
The Wrong Missy (2020)
Funniest Movie I've Seen in Years
This movie made me laugh so hard that I watched it again the next day, and laughed just as hard, again. Never before have I done that, doubtful I will ever again.
It's basically about the blind date from Hell. Totally outrageous. Lauren Lapkus is absolutely brilliant. She stole my heart and I hope she gets yours, too.
