Loki: Glorious Purpose (2023)
Season 2, Episode 6

Actually Amazing
10 November 2023
Disney is currently in its flop era as they try to find their footing for new plots and characters, as well as unnecessary spin offs, sequels, and just movies/shows in general. This is the thing we need more than ever in Marvel, unique stories with high stakes and great characters. I'm actually blown away at how good this episode was, even for a show that I already considered Marvel's best so far.

I honestly was not expecting a season which has a similar scale to something like avenger's infinity war. I would not be surprised if the new avengers movie was not as high stakes and/or good as this was.

Great Show but not nearly as good as the game
14 March 2023
This was expected but it should still be mentioned. There is much more emotion, connection, and immersion when playing the game. While Bella did a pretty good job, her emotion was nothing compared to ashley johnson's in the game, as well as Pedro's performance compared to Troy Baker's. However, this show is still an amazing watch for people who did not play the games or don't play games in general. It is much better than most shows that come out these days by a pretty big margin. Fans of the last of us will also like it, but don't expect it to be like playing the game for the very first time again.

Amazing Animated Adult Comedy Drama
11 February 2023
First season was great, but there were a few times it felt a bit too cliche or kind of underwhelming. The voice acting and animation are unmatched and the characters are amazing, but some of the plot and story feels underwhelming in comparison. Still, it has some great moments in the story that are far from average. If you like invincible, I don't see how you could ever not like this as it has a similar vibe in terms of tone and animation, just in a fantasy world. I cannot wait for season 3 and I love that the new storyline is overarching with some season specific elements. Season 1 was an 8.5/10 and season 2 was a 9.5/10.

Surprisingly refreshing and mature
14 December 2022
I was expecting a rehash of the same old, same old, but this take is extremely well done and dark. While it has some of the cliche elements of classic pinocchio, it does those particular parts in a way that doesn't feel like a copy of previous iterations. This is very much a movie for both adults and children, lowkey even leaning towards the adult and teen audience. It had guillermo del toro's signature fantasy horror elements in it without being too overwhelming or focused; it almost felt like a darker version of tim burton. This is now one of my favorite animated films of all time and maybe my favorite of the past couple years.

Slow start that turns into a great show
12 December 2022
I wasn't too impressed with the show at the start, but it was good enough and interesting enough to keep going. Episodes 2 and 3 were the weak points as they were extremely sluggish, but it picks up from episode four onward, especially episode five onward. What I love about this show is the constant unravelling of the overarching mystery, which is not predictable at all. I am really looking forward to a season 2 because it will be a vastly different experience as a whole, and one that I don't just want to see, but need to see. If you're on the fence due to the 6 and 7/10 ratings, at least finish episode 4 before deciding.

Not sure where all the praise is coming from
1 November 2022
It's not the worst show ever but the writing is extremely bland, the acting is subpar, and the characters are static and uninteresting. I will say that the cgi is really good, especially for a tv show, but ultimately it's just not worth suffering through 1+ hour episodes of the aforementioned problems just to see some cool effects and set pieces. It reminds me of Westworld if Westworld was less interesting and had a lower production value(it's from the producers of Westworld as well if I am not mistaken). I really wanted to like it because it definitely does have some redeeming qualities, but it feels like something NBC or similar would release, except the cgi is good and they can say the f word.

Tense, Horrific, and Eye Opening
24 September 2022
I love shows about serial killers and I also love Evan Peters as an actor which made this show a must try for me. This mini series is largely a horror show, with more focus on Jeffrey Dahmer in the act than the aftermath of what he has done. It has a historical aspect to it as well, but those are not super present until the last three episodes or so.

The acting is phenomenal - especially from Dahmer's dad, the pacing is great but occasionally slow, and the actual meat of the show (no pun intended) is solid almost every time. If you need something to scratch your Mindhunter itch, this is your show.

Great start, loses a lot of steam halfway through
16 September 2022
The first 5 episodes are dedicated to the actual events at the hospital and those ones are great. First episode is intense; the rest are a bit slower in nature but are a very interesting watch. It's great to see how everything went down when the hurricane hit.

The last 3 episodes are dedicated to the aftermath of everything, from the hospital to the decisions made at the hospital. These are not bad necessarily, but they move at a sluggish pace and are ultimately not even half as interesting as the hospital episodes.

I really feel like they could have shortened the first 5 hospital episodes into 4, and the last 3 aftermath episodes into 2 for a total of 6 thought out episodes. It really starts to repeat itself at those points, but it is still a fine watch, especially if you are particularly interested in hurricane Katrina.

Fantastic anime for anime lovers and skeptics alike
14 September 2022
This show was absolutely amazing with edge of your seat moments, great characters, and no plot armor for any of the characters. It had great pacing outside two or so episodes, but even those episodes didn't feel like a waste of time. Episodes 6 and 10 are easy 10/10s in my book.

Although the original language is Japanese, I watched the English dub and wow, they did a great job with it. Never noticed any dips regarding lip syncing, dialogue, or voice acting. In fact, they seemed to have planned the English dub cast with thought as they have Matthew Mercer and Giancarlo Esposito among others.

Even if you aren't a big anime person, watch this show. The typical anime tropes aren't there and it really feels like an anime for everyone.

Cobra Kai: Head of the Snake (2022)
Season 5, Episode 10

Absurd and Delightful
11 September 2022
Cobra Kai is a fun, unrealistic show that never takes itself too seriously. There were various scenes this season that had me shaking my head, but ultimately it was an absolute blast to watch. Let's be honest, if this show had any hint of realism it would be an absolute bore to watch.

This episode is perhaps the show's biggest impact episode yet, with multiple plot points either being wrapped up or just beginning. It was a very high stakes episode, which is rare in this show. One of the only episodes where life or death is an actual concern.

Overall, great episode, great show, and great season (even if I preferred most of the other seasons to this one).

Lost Ollie (2022)

Great watch with some tedious parts
30 August 2022
This is a kid's show, but it definitely has something for both kids and adults in the same way that pixar movies do. The adventure parts were phenomenal but I feel like it really lacks in the human part of it, often consisting of slow, generic conversations with emotion that seems very forced at times. That being said, there were still plenty of parts that filled me with joy, sadness, or even dread.

The main toy, Ollie, seems to lack an enticing personality, but the other two main toys are always a joy to watch. It might not be the most original story ever, but it still catches you by surprise and even shocks you with how dark it can get. Overall a good watch if you think you'd like a darker version of Toy Story.

a unique spin on an overdone story
29 August 2022
This show is really great, not to mention it's free! Solid entertainment with lots of laughs, especially from Martha Plimpton who is easily funnier than everyone else combined. Normally I hate when shows do covid related stuff, but in this particular case it fits the story, characters, humor, and even amplifies them.

Production quality especially surprised me considering the show is free. I don't particularly like Rooster's ex that much, but other than that I have no complaints with any of the other characters. I look forward to the rest of the season and will binge the episodes as soon as they come out.

Great watch for those who enjoy cuphead and its art style
25 August 2022
I will say that this show is wildly inconsistent and often lacking substance, but the good episodes are quite a fun watch. If you pick and choose the episodes by rating, you'll enjoy yourself much more.

This show is hilarious and entertaining when it's not
19 August 2022
This is one of the best comedies I've seen in the past couple years. The comedy is unique and always catches you by surprise, you never know what the punchlines are going to be or when they're coming. Hope it gets a second season.

8 August 2022
How did we go from the incredible storytelling of episode 6 into this weird, corny, and uninteresting mess that is episodes 7-10? I just don't get it. The first 6 episodes were great, but this doesn't even feel like the same show at all.

THIS is how you do a captivating nippy type episode
2 August 2022
This episode proves you CAN make an episode like Nippy without the excessive filler. I was interested the whole way through and there is without a doubt going to be a big domino effect from this one.

Not bad, but unnecessary
26 July 2022
This episode just felt unneeded and is a big change of pace from the big impact episodes of this season. With only 3 episodes left, I don't know how this made the final run of episodes. It was still good, but definitely lackluster compared to the highs, and even mids of this season.

Solar Opposites (2020– )

Gave up on season 3
15 July 2022
I love rick and morty, but this show is just not good. There are a few good episodes every now and then, but even the best episodes are about as good as rick and morty's worst. The characters are 1 dimensional with no growth and many of the plots feel like they were taken from Rick and Morty's "not good enough" throwaway pile. Many people seem to praise the wall subplot, and while it is the best part of the show, it is highly overrated. That aspect is an 8/10 at best. Rick and Morty has growth, emotional depth, and complex characters which this show completely lacks. It feels very slapstick as if the main characters are invincible and never in any real danger; at least rick and morty has more logical explanations to how they come out of stuff alive. Not to mention the fact that the characters are copy and pasted from other adult cartoons and especially Rick and Morty. It's like rick and morty but without the good parts of rick and morty.

If you're a fan of League, you'll love it, if you're a fan of american vandal, you may or may not like it
9 July 2022
I don't like League as a game at all, but gave this a shot because I loved American Vandal and Arcane was amazing. While there are good bits in there, there are ultimately too many League references for the average viewer to enjoy.

Inconsistent but enjoyable
8 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I love every episode of the boys, but this season has bugged me quite a bit. I get that the super heroes have strong healing abilities, but there were way too many times someone survived something they shouldn't. In my opinion both A-Train and Maeve should be 100% dead. A-Train was just dumb, you see his body give out and then next episode he was not only fine, but he could run again. As for Maeve, there is no way she survived that nuclear soldier boy blast and that fall. Soldier boy's whole point was to kill homelander, so does that mean he isnt even strong enough to do so? Overall though, this episode was quite enjoyable.

A bit of a slower episode, but still a good deal of character development and plot unravelling. I expect the next episode will have quite a bit more action.

Enjoyable season, interesting finale with some faults
26 June 2022
Overall enjoyed this season quite a bit, less so than season 2 and more so than season 1. The twists and turns were fun but ultimately a bit absurd, even for a show about time travel and apocalypses. I kind of hope this is the last season just because it seemed like a fitting end for the characters and the potential plot for season 4 is kind of weak in my opinion. 8/10 episode, 8/10 season, 8.5/10 show.

Great show for people in the service industry, good show for those that aren't
25 June 2022
As someone who worked in a restaurant for 3.5 years, this is easily the most accurate media representation of that kind of life. Show never really had any "funny" moments in my opinion, but the drama and characters are still amazing. If I didn't have experience in a restaurant I'd more than likely rate this 8/10 though.

Best episode of all time
24 June 2022
I never thought I'd see the day where Ozymandias was not the best episode of tv ever, but I think it might've just arrived. More things happened in this one episode than 500 seasons of average tv. I'm expecting big things from the rest of the season.

Wow. This was probably the best episode in the whole show and one of the best of all time. So much happened so quickly and had some extremely good acting. I really wonder where they will go for season 4 because I would never be able to guess.
