So predictable, so bad...
24 December 2010
Warning: Spoilers
Our story begins in a dark and creepy room with a torture of a young girl... Well an exciting beginning can thrill me BUT, then we can see two girls (presumably tourists, and "possibly" American) cycling towards a little village, as it turns out in Argentina. And our story finishes here, after five OR six minutes. I mean, the exciting part. Because the rest of the film is little bit familiar from the other, let's see one thousand thrillers. In this equation only the place and the actors are changed. Kidnapping for the usual reason (sick and rich individual is hungry for young chicks), as we saw it in "Taken" as an example. Same boring and predictable bad guys. But there is new formula: a total waste of a character: Karl Urban's shattered American. As an expectancy, he should get the "Deus ex machina" role, but instead he's more like an observer. Literally he is NOT doing anything, but looking seriously, and chatting a little about his lost girlfriend and then in the key moment he flees, with a PROMISE from the bad guy, that he will get his girlfriend back. But people it's OK, the bad guy gave his word, didn't he? If you find logic in here, I'm begging you, let me know! So this character is a total waste, why bother with it? And by the way what about the acting? I'm awfully sorry but there isn't one. Actors do their screaming and looking dummy part, but nothing more, it's rather more less I think. To sum up with, if anybody asks me, whether he/she will watch this film, I would say a definite no! Make no mistake, this film is completely awful. Not just the plot, which is full of the "hundred times saw" American clichés, but the acting as well. I only give 4 out of 10 because of the beautiful girls and nice places, but I still find this rating humiliating. It's a pity...

Requiem for the Alien Series
5 February 2008
I was only fourteen when I first saw the Alien movies and I immediately came to like it. Original, terrifying and classic. Sigourney Weaver was the perfect choice for the female hero character and she would have deserved a statuette for her act. In 1979 something everlasting was born than the immortal series continued with a nothing less legendary movie than the first. Alien3 was a different point of view but I think this part was the most stressful and unique of all, this was my favourite. Unfortunately the last one was a failure in many ways. It was strained, illogical with full of meaningless massacres. I didn't like it at all, but I never thought that a worse part would ever be made in the future. Well as it turned out in 2004 I was wrong. Alien vs. Predator was a bad break, and it should have been directed by a more talented director or should have never been made at all. But when I saw Alien vs Predator Requiem I was totally shocked moreover devastated. When I sat down and decided to watch it with full of doubt, even than I had never thought that such a bad movie could be made. Without a screenplay, without a director and without actors I don't understand how can a film be made. Because this film misses these three terms. What you get is a nice massacre show without a story but with a lot of annoying and boring dialogues. Waste of money and waste of time. This movie is rather impudence, than honor to the fans of the both sides (Alien/Predator). Shame!

Beowulf (2007)
5/10
A bit disappointment!
22 December 2007
Warning: Spoilers
I saw this movie and I couldn't decide whether this movie deserves to be speak of or not. Well I'm damn sure it is worth! But not because it's good but rather disappointing. As a matter of fact it is a failure. When I looked through the cast I thought OK, my favorite actor Sir Anthony Hopkins took part in this, it must have been good. And the plot was all right. But I was wrong. Besides its unique 3D graphic, the hole movie is a cliché which is took part in the medieval Denmark. The same old story: a kingdom needs to be saved from an evil demon, of course the hero will arrive soon after the terrifying massacre. Yes! Very original and it is very very astonishing that the king has got filthy background. Returning scenes does not very various neither the characters speeches. After a dozen "I'm Beowulf, the mighty and the cool guy" I was a little bit annoyed. Actors are professionals, it was a routine job for Sir Hopkins and Angelina Jolie, but nothing significant. The directing was proper too, I think the mistake was committed in the screenplay.

However the reason why I gave it 5/10 is the graphic and one symbol: Grendel is freak and evil monster, also the son of the king, but Beowulf's son is a mighty, pure but also an evil dragon. Their sons refer to their real personalities, which are not so noble. I think this is mentionable, but it clears up during the movie.

Ghost Rider (2007)

Terribly Awful!
19 August 2007
When I first saw the cast of the Ghost Rider, I felt relief. The Academy Awards winner Nicholas Cage and Peter Fonda. Hmm...I thought: "If they play in this film, it must be good"... Well, I guess I was wrong. This film is in lack of acting, humor and entertainment. So almost everything that makes a kind of this film watchable and good. There is a little action in it, if I can call it that, but with those awful computer animation solutions it is rather funny than entertaining. By the way "fun". If anyone can find a scene that contains some elements of this word, please notify me because I couldn't. The only thing that I could notice was the strained jokes. I didn't laugh, I'd rather been frustrated. And what about the actors? I wouldn't say anything about them because they would take offense at it. I don't know why they had accepted this job with that crap screenplay, but I suppose it was the money. So if I have to sum up this movie I would say: "This film is a waste of time (and money)!"
