The Locksmith (2023)
Horrible
This was quite possibly the worst movie I've seen in years. Dumb story combined with terrible acting. The sad part is that there are a lot of pretty decent actors in this movie - Ryan Philippee, Kate Bosworth, Ving Rhames - on its surface should be a good flick, but everyone just phoned it in. Dumb premise centers around a master locksmith (really?) who can pick any lock within a few seconds. If I had paid for this in a theater I would have walked out and asked for a refund. Because it was streaming, I ended up just falling asleep through half of it - then rewound and started again, and fell asleep again. What passes for action in this story is basically nonsensical, and you end up wishing it would just end already.
24 (2001)
Awesome but kinda dumb
Doesn't stand the test of time... watched this when it first came out and thought it was the greatest show ever. Going back and watching it again on Hulu and now realizing just how dumb it actually is. Bower never tells anyone anything, just says "Trust me" virtually every time he speaks to anyone. The daughter gets kidnapped like 57 times. Tony with his soul patch always lurking around giving that weird sideways look. Palmers wife is ridiculous. Secret service breaking EVERY protocol known to man, how many secret agents are working at CTU!! It's all so ridiculous yet I still love it!! It just doesn't stand the test of time with all its corny dialog and plot lines.
Behind Her Eyes (2021)
Skeleton Key remake
It was good, but it's basically a really, really long retelling of the movie Skelton Key with Kate Hudson. Sat through 6 hours of watching to come up with the same ending as a 90 minute movie. They could have twisted the ending better. But it was well acted. It kept me guessing for a few episodes. The David character was kind of a wimp - at was he even sticking around? He didn't kill anyone, so he should have left years ago. Unless he knew that his wife was actually Rob, and that's why he didn't love her (him) anymore. But then still, she/ he had nothing on him, he could have divorced her / him and moved on with life. That part of the story made no sense.
