Belyy tigr (2012)
Speechless, on a good way
I was expecting some low quality Russian war movie and got a realistic and deep one instead.
The movie is far from the recent big production from Russian embedding a lot of CGI and other after prod effects. That one feels much more real, closer to Come and See or the 1993 German movie Stalingrad. This, itself, makes it worth watching it. Expect a lot of historical references like the Matilda tank wrecked to show up.
The battles and the historical events are quite realistic while the end of the movie leaves the audience thinking about the meaning of the whole thing ( talking about the last two scenes here ).
A good movie that is worth being known more. You may also want to know more about the ending when you watch it too.
Taeksi woonjunsa (2017)
A must see!
One of the most beautiful Korean movies I've got to see. Different from other masterpieces from the same country, such as The Wailing, Burning or Parasyte, this one is historical and follows the life of ordinary men during the extraordinary events that eventually led to the end of the military rule in Korea.
Touching, beautiful, based on true events with a slight touch of fiction, this one really is a must.

Japanese Gundam meet Hollywood, for the best
When Japanese Gundam meet Hollywood for a perfect mix, this is what you get!
Like many, Gundam or mechas movies were far from being my favourites, but here we have a movie made by someone who obviously knew and liked what he was doing, and the result is an entertaining and catching movie you will want to see more than once, weither you liked the style before or not. What are you waiting for? :)
Schindler's List (1993)
A masterpiece. Must-see. Nothing else to say.
The movie is black and white.
At first, it takes it's time. You feel like... It's going to be boring.
Then the movie ends, and you hoped it would have lasted another hour. Not that you enjoyed the horrific scenes, the brutal reality, or the perfect acting from the main actors. But...
The movie is so well done, you are in the movie, you feel what the characters are going through. You start to like Schindler and Stern, you feel them, and just like them you start to get emotionally connected to all these persons they are trying to save. Basically, even if what the movie describes is a world war and all the worst things coming with, the movie is so well done, you are into it.
No exaggeration, no Hollywood plot armour, just an emotional movie describing the life of a German citizen realising what is going on and deciding to do what is right.
Whoever doesn't cry during the final scene is a psychopath. A masterpiece, there's no other word.
( Forgive the typo mistakes, not a native english speaker here )
T-34 (2018)
Hollywood, Russian version! ( Spoiler tells you when to stop reading, no worry )
A good entertaining movie. Action oriented, not so realistic ( don't expect a band of brothers or a 1993 Stalingrad here ). Literally: Hollywood Captain America, made in version. Without the super powers, of course.
Beside Fury and a few others, no so many movies take the time to describe what was happening inside tanks during WW2.
However, it has flaws: acting and scripts are soso, plot armours, full of clichés and weird slow motions ( if you saw the Russian movie Stalingrad, you know what I'm talking about ). Also, if you are a history nerd you'll see that, just like in Fury, some tank battles are heavily unrealistic. As the plot itself, to be honest. However...
SPOILER ALERT!
The humanity between the protagonist and the antagonist save the movie, in my opinion.
It's just a few seconds in the end, and a few minutes during the movie, but it takes the time to show that both the protagonist and the antagonist are human beings fighting with honour, with even some kind of respect for each other.
A small detail which, for me, made a difference.
END SPOILER ALERT
In anyways, the movie remains an entertaining epic piece, and one of the few talking mostly about the mechanical warfare during WW2. As a result, and even if the plot armour was huge, I had a good time watching this one.
