Hu Yao Xiao Hong Niang: Yue Hong Pian (2024)
Fantasy Drama with Down-to-Earth Storyline
I was concerned about the special effects of this fantasy drama, as many fantasy dramas focused so much on their special effects and forgot the importance of the storyline. Fox Spirit Matchmaker Red-Moon Pact has balanced the special effects and storyline well. As a viewer, I am drawn by the beautifully designed special effects, but not losing interest in the story. The plot is also realistic that a child adopted by the Chief of Fox Spirit can develop a relationship with her. The inner debates of YueChu in finding out the kind of relationship he develops with HongHong is very realistic. It's exciting to see how YueChu's struggles to discover the ultimate truth. On the flip side of the story, HongHong struggles at the same time in accepting her feelings for YueChu and YueChu's feelings for her. How two of them grow as they struggle together will be something that I look forward to seeing.

Young Entrepreneur Booster
This drama seeks to encourage young entrepreneurs not to give up easily when facing challenges in their businesses. On top of that, it demonstrates how holding on to the old values not necessarily means they need forgoing the development of the new. It is a meaningful drama that young people can gain knowledge and wisdom in pursuing their dreams. The characters developed well, and the casts performed professionally and realistically. The love relationship between the male and female leads may seem hard to believe. However, that is what drama is all about. Drama without dramatic plots would be boring. Their passion and intense interactions are part of the excitement of this drama.
Hu Yao Xiao Hong Niang: Yue Hong Pian: Episode #1.1 (2024)
Surprisingly good Fantasy Drama
Honestly, I am not a fan of Fantasy Drama. I find fictional characters are too far from real world, it is hard for me to relate. Sometimes the special effects put me off, as they are too exaggerated. However, Fox Spirit Matchmaker Red-Moon Pact has surprised me. It caught my attention and I enjoyed it for the last ten episodes. The special effects were done well and beautiful. The characters were well designed too. I love the contrasts between the male and female lead characters. One is lively and cute, the other is calm and cool. The rest of the casts were beautiful too. It's a beautifully presented drama.

Calm and cool drama
I like this drama's way of "promoting" rural areas and communities. In it's subtle way, it leads viewers to appreciate the cultures of those areas and consider getting to know them better. The drama does not have complicated plots. It's "lightness" makes one feels comfortable watching it. There are no stunning moments that make viewers excited or curious. That's life and how the drama portrays it honestly. The two leads are very pleasant looking actor and actress. They have their own rights in the Chinese drama industry. It's a good choice to pair them up as they look good together in many ways.
This is a drama for those who just want to have a peaceful watching.

It takes patience to appreciate this drama
I have watched this drama three times. The reason I re-watched it is because each time I discovered more in depth connections to the plots. I appreciate all the casts' efforts. I respect their professionalism and everyone put in their best effort to present a meaning drama that displays how hatred can drive someone to do things that they don't usually do. On the flip side of it, this drama also displays how love can drive a person to sacrifice himself to the point of suffering and death. The casts' play their roles well, they are like a well orchestrated symphony. Those who dislike this drama may probably have not watched it, impatient or something else. Both the male and female leads have such chemistry and many fans hope that they are an item.
I think that the "special effects" can sometimes get overboard and look ridiculous. If not for that, I may give it a 10. I suggest the directors and producers just need to focus on the plots and the acting. They are good enough to win sincere viewers' hearts. It is a very touching story after all.
Wo Yao Ni Feng Qu: Episode #1.1 (2023)
A fated encounter between Xu Si and Jiang Hu
Xu Si's very first encounter with Jiang Hu is very epic. She has mistaken him as her dad's newly hired assistant and ordered him to buy food. Little does she know that this young man that she pays so little attention to can turn out that she will need him so much in the near future.
I like how Xu Si responses to Jiang Hu's demand and how they play push and pull throughout the episode. The scenes are natural and sometimes playful. The chemistry between Gong Jun as Xu Si and Elane Zhong as Jiang Hu is great. They both display great presence and share the stage equally. There's no sense of competition but cooperation. They have made this drama more exciting to watch.

Either you like it or hate it
I saw some comments about the drama being at it's worst. To me, this drama needs a lot of deep appreciation of the complexity of human relationship and interaction. There are so many layers to ponder on it. If you like superficial stuff, this may not be your liking. The pace of the drama allows viewers to reflect on those complexities and also on their own humanistic relationships and interactions in daily life. Pick your choice.
