religious propaganda without a good movie to back it up
3 November 2021
If you are just a regular movie watcher looking for a 'good movie', this is not it. This movie seems to be made by/made for devout Christians, and if you are not that, you will not like this movie. It is not an interesting bigfoot movie, nor an interesting alien movie. I just want everyone to know this so you don't waste your time like I feel like I did by watching this.

The Swarm (2020)
3/10
A poorly written and unnecessarily long family farm drama, that turns to bloodthirsty bugs in a final act attempt to make something interesting happen.
7 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Woman feeds her own blood to bugs, and they quickly become bloodthirsty killers. This idea sounds interesting on paper, but this is only about actual 20 minutes of the movie. The rest of the film is an unnecessarily long uninteresting family drama. Despite its runtime, you do not get to know, nor do you care about any of the characters in the film. It feels like someone wrote a drama that takes place on a farm, but then realized how boring it was so they added a 'bloodthirsty killer bug' element to film that doesn't fit at all. This movie fails both as a drama and in its "horror" elements. The special effects and camera-work are the most competently done parts of the film. I don't know who would enjoy this film and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to watch it. I give it 3/10 only because it kept me watching enough to want to know what, if anything, was going to happen. I will never watch this movie again in my life and you wont be missing anything at all if you skip it all together.

Very watchable, yet overly long and unoriginal.
3 July 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Do you like Terminator, The Thing, Alien? Man time travels to future to fight alongside daughter to save all mankind during a future war. Alien ship crash lands carrying a cargo of a species of 'alien weapons' inside embryos. Alien in the Artic snow must be stopped before reaching civilization. All of those elements from better movies, are in this movie. Nothing original, but good for a one time watch. 5/10.

I want to like it, but after disappointing first season, this is just more of the same.
9 April 2021
I need to preface this by saying I am huge fan of George Romero, Creepshow, Tales from the Crypt, Tales from the Darkside, and all that sort of stuff. I really wanted to enjoy the first season, but I didnt, and this is just more of the same. For real, you're better off watching Tales from Darkside or Crypt episodes, they are much better. If you do enjoy this show, then you should check out Tales from the Darkside and Crypt even more so, because they are much better versions of this. To sum it up, as huge Romero and horror fan, I dont like this, and I dont need it in my life. I gave it 3/10 just because of some practical effects and because its Creepshow. If this didnt have the Creepshow name for nostalgia love, it would be even worse I think.

The Stand (2020–2021)
6/10
Having watched the first 4 episodes, I feel ready to share my thoughts on this mini series. Starts with a bang, and is quickly bogged down to boring.
7 January 2021
I thought the first episode was good and a solid start to the series. Now having just finished episode 4, every episode I have watched has been worse since episode 1. Episode 3 felt very thin. Episode 4 is almost entirely a filler episode that barely progresses the story at all. The show has bogged down to a crawl at this point. I will finish watching this now just because I already invested the time to get this far. I watched the 1994 The Stand series many times over the years and enjoy, and for all its flaws, enjoy it more than this new run at it. None of the characters are particularly good and nothing from the series stands out. 6/10. watch if you are a Stephen King fan, otherwise you wont be missing much by skipping this run. I will continue to enjoy the 1994 Stand in the future, but I cant ever see myself wanting to rewatch these episodes.

Mythic Quest (2020– )

Coming from an Always Sunny fan, skip this show, its not good.
18 April 2020
I found it difficult to finish the first episode. Its kinda like a goofy cringey childrens show meets the office. Young angsty characters working at a video game studio with a zany crazy lead developer. Feels like a show about games made by people who don't know about games. I'm not sure who the target audience for this is, but I would not recommend this to Sunny fans who think it might be something similar. Its really hard to put to words, I just didnt like it at all.

Hereditary (2018)

The final 20 minutes or so is one of the scariest things I have ever seen.
1 December 2019
Theres not much I want to say other than watch this movie if you want to be creeped out. This is not just another generic jump scare type horror movie, this has some brains behind it. Its a movie that can really make you feel something.

The Fare (I) (2018)

Is like a longer Twilight Zone episode. 7/10.
1 December 2019
This feels alot like a longer Twilight Zone episode. I didnt have high expectations going in to it but was pleasantly surprised. At less than 90 minutes long, you dont need to invest alot of time to watch it. Brinna Kelly is beautiful and really made the movie for me. You as the viewer can almost fall in love with her character. There was one special effects like 3D rendered shot of the cab going through the desert that that stood out as bad, but all the rest of the effects were fine. Being so short and a bit thin, this could have easily worked as a tv epiosde too. Id recommend anyone giving this movie a chance if you like Twilight Zone.

good not great
25 February 2015
OK so i thought this movie was enjoyable, but nothing very special. certainly watchable, and not the worst movie of all time like some people are saying. a lot of the movie is bits from the original rehashed for the new movie. brings back some of the feelings of nostalgia for people who grew up with the first movie. give it a chance, don't expect anything groundbreaking, its worth a watch. 6/10 = slightly above average, enjoyable. its certainly not for everyone. nothing could ever match up to the feelings we have for the original and maybe they waited too long to make this sequel. again just give it a shot...nothing will ever match up to the feelings you had for the original though.

That's My Boy (2012)

Popular to hate Sandler these days.
30 September 2012
Seems every movie Sandler does these days gets hated on. People saying this is the worst movie ever made in history...really? You people must not have seen many movies. Regardless of what Sandler does the rest of his career its now popular to point out how it sucks and not as funny as his old movies. I enjoyed this movie, laughing out loud several times. Sandler does a great job playing the father. The bachelor party scenes are epic, really feel for the characters. Uncle Vanny? Hilarious. At no point in this movie did I think "oh man this is the worst thing I've seen in my life." Had good feeling, good comedy, a solid entry to Sandlers recent works. Much much better than the one where he played his sister.
