Greenland (2020)
So bad... I could not stop watching it.
This movie was chewing gum for the eyes. There were so many special effects that they were no longer special or affective. Greenland looked nice, but was that Greenland? The Government looked bad but what's a Government to do if the world is about to be destroyed? Shouldn't they have a plan? Soldiers looked good, humane as they were following orders even though they were not chosen. Doctors and nurses looked good as they always do. The momma bear protected her cub as the daddy bear heroically saved the family... lending itself to a me Tarzan you Jane cliche. The characters of color looked good one hundred percent in this movie even though none of them came close to being center stage.
How to Change Your Mind (2022)
Legalize Spiritual Discovery
1970: LSD classified under the Controlled Substances Act as a Schedule 1 drug restricting it's manufacturing, use and, most importantly, research. 1971: Don McLean recorded and released American Pie. I do realize that children, schizophrenics, conspiracy theorists and psychedelic minds all like to play connect the dots, but there just might be a connection here.
The Poison Rose (2019)
So bad... I couldn't stop watching it.
An okay start, a slow middle and... well, I can't speak to the ending because I'm still in the middle of it. The Poison Rose has had it's moments thus far. However, those highlights have more to do with Travolta's other movies than this one (e.g. An Angel falling from the sky; scenes where I was hoping his character would dance; etc...). An then there is the Morgan Freeman character in which he seems not to be to enthused to demonstrate his acting acumen. To both actors credit, the film is thus far a poor attempt as a remake of a film noir, or a film noir period. It's superficial, shallow, cliche... and anyone over 40 has most likely seen all the dynamics and plots of this film before... in other films that were done much better. But alas, it's so bad... I still can't stop watching it.
Law Abiding Citizen (2009)
So bad...
This movie was so bad I could not stop watching it. I kept waiting for it to get better and... it did not. I guess therein lies its only entertainment value. It tried to keep you guessing until you didn't care anymore. Actually, I think I guessed right that Grand Funk Railroad added one more dose of real man music as the movie ended... no?
