We Are Lady Parts (2021)
Everything I wanted it to be
Wow, I'm seriously blown away by this show. The writing, chemistry between actors, the music! I have no negative things to say, 10/10 from me. Please watch!
Euphoria (2019)
Uneasy Viewing
This show is addictive. The visuals are stunning. The drama nonstop, and the issues truly devastating. It's hard to watch and I can't look away. Once it's over I feel disturbed and off balance. It's possibly this show is just not for me...
Hunter and Zendaya steal the show every single time, and I mostly keep watching for their chemistry and acting.
The Wheel of Time (2021)
The Wheel of Time - just needs more time
I actually enjoyed this way more than I thought I would. The world is very interesting, and I'll watch Rosamund Pike in anything.
The other actors need a little more room to grow into their roles (or better writing?), as they came off stiff and one dimensional.
I give this show an 8, because there were some truly captivating scenes, and the story intrigued me enough to finish the season (despite only OK acting from some and not great CGI.)
I look forward to the next season. Hopefully it will just keep getting better!
(Favorite scene was definitely a badass pregnant warrior killing a bunch of soldiers!)
Lucifer: Partners 'Til the End (2021)
Wait...but if Rory can go to Hell or Heaven..Couldn't she Visit her Dad?
I think for the most part I really enjoyed season 6. But..the parts that really annoyed me we're all the music image montages. Would have much more appreciated actual scenes...and there were a lot in the finale.
Season 4 will remain my favorite.
Shadow and Bone: We're All Someone's Monster (2021)
Kit Young!
I've watched the first 3 episodes, and while some cracks show in terms of pacing and story, I'm still enjoying the ride immensely. Netflix has let me down before with fantasy shows - but this one, thankfully, doesn't. *sigh of relief*
Kaz and his band of thieves and outlaws are some of my favorite fictional characters of all time and I have my fingers crossed for a spin off. Kit Young is the real stand out for me so far. I didn't remember caring much for Jesper in the books, but Young brings his character to life.
While Alina is an interesting protagonist (played brilliantly by Jessica Mei Li) I'm not as invested in her story in general. Overall, the cast really elevates this show, and I'm hoping Netflix will let it continue to grow as I think it has the potential to stand on its own (without the help of the book fan base).
And I know some people might not like the show because it feels too "YA" but I honestly think that's a good thing. The show knows it's audience! Personally, I think this show is well made and with time and more seasons will successfully draw in those who have never heard of Leigh Bardugo.
