Al Mallu (2020)
Loved this movie
If you like a simple, well acted and directed movie with no fights, no ugliness, no misery and no poverty, watch this movie. If you think if a gulf movie, you assume struggling people, facing problems every day etc. Not this movie. It is about people well settled and happy in the gulf and their story once they have gone beyond saving money to send home. Beautiful people, beautiful locales gives you a new perspective on the gulf life. Don't go with very high expectations, you will enjoy this beautiful movie.
Trikona (2022)
Class apart. MUST WATCH.
Do not try to over analyze this movie or try to find hidden meanings. If you keep your mind open and free while watching this film, you will enjoy a crisp insight into human behavior. This you can analyse mentally AFTER watching the movie.
You are kept on the edge of your seat right through. Cast and acting are excellent. There are some songs and some comedy. All in all a well spent two hours. One point deducted for stretching some scenes too long.
Kanabadutaledu (2021)
Decent movie, Very watchable
I liked the movie. Acting was good by all. Music was good. The second half had a lot of twists and turns, which did not have sufficient elaboration. In retrospect, if the first half scenes, had been cut short, the second half twists would have had adequate leeway for strengthening. Otherwise, I felt that the film was made with genuine intentions. Worth seeing at least once.
Yes, God, Yes (2019)
An honest movie- well directed, acted and photographed
An honest movie that debunks the fear mongering (God will punish you, God is watching etc.) shoved down on hapless people by hypocritical religious entities. Be natural, be free, be honest, don't fall for packaged bull shot is the takeaway from this beautiful movie. My congrats to all those associated with this movie- a job well done.
Ice House (2020)
Really liked it
I watched this movie by chance. However after a few minutes, I was hooked and watched till the end without a break. I really liked it for the way it kept me guessing. A couple of points, in the end, I didn't understand, but then the big picture, the acting, the direction were well worth it.
Never Let Go (2015)
Edge of seat action
If you are ready to send your mind on a holiday and then watch this movie, you will find it quite a gripping tale. It is set in an Arabic ghetto, where an infant gets kidnapped by an international baby trafficking mafia. How the mother persists against severe odds to recover her child is an edge of the seat, thrill a minute action packed adventure. Acting, direction, editing and photography are excellent. On the flip side, some gaping holes in the story 1) choice of vacation spot and choice of hotel 2) a senior us politician can raise campaign funds from within us criminals rather than depend on Middle Eastern criminals.
Bliss (2021)
Bliss - from a Hindu perspective...
I saw the movie today and frankly I was as confused as everybody else. I went through some user reviews and found addiction, mental issues, sci-fi or a combination as the main factors for the real world/unreal world paradigm. I will present another facet - religion.
According to Hinduism, this whole world, our life - birth, existence, procreation, death etc is UNReal. It is like somebody watching a movie in a theater. The story appears real, the characters are real, the actions, feelings, emotions etc are real. But, after 2 hours, when the lights come up, we realise that it was all unreal. The whole universe exists due to a supreme energy force called Brahman. The reality is that we are a part and parcel of this Brahman and are in no way different from it. In real life however, we see our bodies as real, the buildings, the vehicles and others as real. Ordinary people are born, live exist and die in this UNReal existence, because of a force called MAYA or delusion. A very very small number of people, through deep meditation, are able to transcend the curtain and see REALITY. According to Hinduism, the only purpose of our lives is to provide a chance to reach this Reality state, because once you have seen/realised this Real world, you will no longer be born again. In India there are a few people who have "Realised" the real world, in their lifetimes, but continue to exist in this UNReal world for the remainder of their lifetime as beacons for the rest of us - GURUS.
