Stranger Things: Chapter One: The Hellfire Club (2022)
From hero to zero in 1 episode
Wow . What can you say? Three series of innovative drama and then series 4 starts with a bubblegum American high school borefest complete with the cheerleaders. Talk about a show losing its way- this one jumped down a bottomless pit of mediocrity . Despite this I will continue to watch the series and hopefully better things will come out of stranger things. Certainly the only way is up after this opening borefest. I can only conclude that it is difficult to produce a review of at least 600 characters as requested, due to the almost total lack of meaningful content on which to usefully comment. However I am now wondering whether the requirement to submit a review of at least 600 characters is only applied to reviews that award a low score to the programme as it would appear that reviewers who give the show ratins of more than 8 out of ten can submit reviews of extreme brevity. Are you trying to avoid low scoring reviews to inflate the popularity of the show?
Witness Number 3 (2022)
Tosh but entertaining.
Just about everything in this dramsa was unrealistic and factually incorrect. Entertaining nonsense. Need to do more research next time. Obvious that writer has no idea about police procedures.7.
The Lincoln Lawyer (2022)
Good U.S. legal drama.
Some of your reviewers seem hung up that there is a wrong black character here ,a hispanic who doesn't mirror the lead character in the book, and white characters who seem miscast. Why don't you yanks just accept this show for the fine entertainment that it is ,instead of getting hot and bothered about irrelevant political semantics? You should be grateful you are not subjected to the turgid ,boring amateur excuse for police and legal drama that we have to put up with in the U. K.
Bosch: Legacy (2022)
Doesn't get better than this!
Makers of trash like DI Ray and other substandard British crime series need to study Bosch so they can make better shows going forward. If only the season was 100 episodes instead of ten !
DI Ray (2022)
Should not be Panarama.
Would have rated this at least 8 if it had stuck with being a superior police procedural albeit with obvious plot lines.unfortunately the constant references to both overt and hidden racism spoilt what would otherwise have been worthwhile entertainment.
Compulsion: Episode #1.4 (2022)
Nonsensical ending
I had been mildly entertained by episodes 1-3 despite the absurdities of the plotting. However the concluding episode went beyond breaking point for me and i can only recommend avoidind this diabolically bad series.
Deadline (2022)
Inexcusably bad.
So boring and lacking any sort of credibility or empathy with any of the characters in this cliche ridden pile of manure. The has she done it or not plot has been done and better many times and the idea that the chief suspect would commission a washed up hack to both tell her story and investigate the crime was laughable. There was not a shred of wit ,humour or intelligence in the script whatsoever and the main actors appeared embaressed at times to be in this load of tosh.
Our House (2022)
Dross
Just where does itv get this stuff from. Would have beennn 1/10 if it wasnt for the cliffhanger at the end. How can itv keep churning out such drab boring drama?
The Girl Before: Episode #1.1 (2021)
I have no words
Nasty things are happening in a minimalist house which you are asked to believe people want to live in,which no-one ever would and it seems the architect owner of the property had a wife and child who died when a wall fell on them at the property, which was then rebuilt and he lures women who look like his wife into the property and thats about it.
If the house is minamalist the plot is equally so as is any emotional investment you could have in any of the poorly drawn characters in this hideous primetime drama.
The Tower (2021)
Lazy writing
First off it was watchable but not intenaely so. Probably because anyone with half a brain would have solved this ' mystery' by the end of epuside 1. At least this one only lasted 3 episodes , but still you cant get that time back.
Showtrial (2021)
Really couldnt care less
Couldnt connect with any of the characters in this one. Didnt see the need for an ending where the main defendant (spoilt brat girl) cast doubt on her own acquittal. That was a straight copy of the legendary hollywood noir- witness for the prosecution. Also there was the ridiculous relationship between the cps guy and the victims mother which began even before anyone was charged which anyone with basic criminal law knowledge knows doesnt happen. Finally in relation to the hiding of the scarf evidence in the disclosure unused material any barely competant defence team would have sussed this out prior to trial. However I still rated this 7/10 as for some reason i cant quantify i actually enjoyed it despite having zero belief in any of the badly drawn characters.
The Conjuring 2 (2016)
Classy horror
East Enders meets The Exorcist in which the suspense builds to a nailbiting climax.
Ridley Road (2021)
Entertaining junk
The influence of colin jordan is dramatically exaggerated beyond any historical recognition in this entertaining but unintentionally comic portrayal of britain in 1962. The cor blimey jewish cockneys and barious other unrealistic characters heighten the comedy in this heavily fictionalised portrayal of the period and actually damages the present day opposition to extreme far right tendencies.
Hollington Drive (2021)
So bad it's not even funny
Peak time slot fot this badly written borefest. Someone is definitely having a laugh!
My Cornwall with Fern Britton (2021)
Boring boring boring
Cornwall as a destination goes to the bottom of my go to list after watching this drearily presented travelogue.
