Madagascar (2005)
Another ableist kid's movie... *sighs*
I really don't have much to say on this one... I'll say this though:
I am disappointed.
The Lego Batman Movie (2017)
Cute, funny, and all you could ask for in a LEGO movie!
Finally, a movie (since The Lego Movie) that took screentime to develop the characters. Give them dialogue, give them personalities, etc.
Maybe it's just the bro-mance between Batman and the Joker making me say this, but besides the weirdly-sexist trope towards Batgirl, the annoying kid, and the somewhat 18+ jokes, this movie was pretty dang good. Sometimes annoying and possibly not kid-friendly, but otherwise cute, funny, and all you could ask for in a LEGO movie!
Hustlers (2019)
Lopez's acting was incredible... the rest of the movie, not so much.
If a movie doesn't have a plot, it's not worth your time.
This movie is more of a character study than an actual movie with a plot.
Leaving you with more questions than answers, celebrities like Cardi B & Lizzo having almost little to zero screen-time, celebrating, drinking, and dancing.
Other than that, it's nothing. And not even Lopez can save this movie.
The Lego Ninjago Movie (2017)
Cringey kid jokes, stereotypical tropes, not-well-done culture representation (modernizing ninjas and all that), and it's not even canon to the show...
I don't even watch the show anymore, I expected the movie to be canon, AT LEAST. But no, ofc not.
Please don't waste your time watching this.
The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part (2019)
Is it me or are things moving too fast? And in the wrong direction?
Everyone liked The Lego Movie, right? Even if you didn't, you could at least call it a decent one.
So when we all heard about the sequel... Of course, we were excited!
But, everything went downward from there. And, well, let's just say I had HIGH expectations for this movie. It turned out sucky-
Sigh. At least, it wasn't that horrid.
Tall Girl (2019)
If I could laugh, I could... The sheer stupidity of this movie is insane.
Honestly, why.
Every once a year, sometimes more, sadly, some really bad-cringe-haha-meme-on-tiktok movie comes out. And yeah, people like me want to watch it. To see the sheer stupidity and then regret the time wasted.
And, alas, I did.
Was it good? Of course not.
The Lego Movie (2014)
It might not be the best movie out there... but it holds a special place in our hearts.
Now, ofc, we all know The Lego Movie. Earliest memories go back to 1st grade, kids in my class singing "Everything is Awesome" over and over again...
The Lego Movie was a movie that certain people were judgemental towards, thinking it was going to be another one of those movies promoting their brand toys. Well, it wasn't. It was way more than that.
The whole uniqueness of the story, the characters, the animation. It was something that, at that time, no one had really seen before.
Knock it off with some funny jokes that even teens and adults can have a laugh at, it was a fun movie for everyone and anyone. I honestly cannot believe someone if they say that they hated The Lego Movie. It was a kid's film. Meant for little kids.
You can't tell me that you hated a kid's film, that would just be ridiculous.
Yeah, it's obvoius that The Lego Movie isn't the best movie out there. But it isn't the worst either...
It's a decent (pretty-good) movie, I think we can all, at to the very least, agree on that.
