Shûmatsu no Valkyrie (2021)
What a waste.
This could have been such a great series, but they ruined it. The episodes were DRAGGED to fill time. Scenes of people chearing for almost 2 minutes, without anything happening. The dialouge was horrible. Random flashbacks to make up for the characters having NO back stories, which led to no emotion connected to any character at all. 1 fight continued for the duration of 5 episodes, which made me skip a lot of scenes. Because if it's not one of the opponents flexing their muscles for 2 minutes, it's the audience giving their opinion for half an episode.
El hoyo (2019)
great concept, bad execution.
The movie wasn't all bad. A lot of things they did made sense to a point. Except that dead bodies are still edible after 30 days... the movie had no climax and there were a few plot holes here and there. Especially how and why a place like this exists. What threw me off was when the "wise" man told them that the certain dish will be a message for the people working on level 0. They never ellaborated on that. And then the message got replaced by a little girl. Still don't know what the message is and why the man couldn't go with her on the platform.
So what I'm trying to get at is: the concept of the movie and the direction they wanted to go in was good, but it kinda lost its momentum after some time and I just watched till' the end out of curiousity. A better dialouge and finer details would've made a big difference
Torden (2020)
Talk about anti-climax.
The movie started off very promising. Graphics were good. The acting had no problem. The scenery was beautiful. And a few plot holes later and I'm confused as hell. How did Eric and the girl develop feelings so fast? Why was he released by the police to go places after he murdered numerous people? Why was the father, of the son he killed, so quickly forgiving? Why and how did he have a sudden urge to revive a passed away boy?
I feel the plot was rushed and they missed a lot of build ups and character growth that would've made this movie great. I felt NOTHING when his "girlfriend" died. The characters lacked depth.
In conclusion: if you like norse mythology and the story of thor and don't mind being a bit bored and confused then this movie won't be a problem for you. As for people who care about plotlines and character growth/depth you might find this movie a little bland. Overall I loved the graphics and CGI
We Can Be Heroes (2020)
Stop ruinning old classics with unneeded sequels!
I am going to be very straight-forward. It was cringe. There were plot holes. The characters lacked depth. The children had 1, maybe 2, emotions through the whole movie. The script was immemorable, so were the characters. I know this movie appeals to a younger audience, but at least keep old Sharkboy and Lavagirl fans in mind, too.
