The Haunting of Bly Manor: The Jolly Corner (2020)
Too many slips
A compelling series which draws you deeper and deeper every episode. The real horror is our own pasts.
However, as others have already said, as a viewer in the UK, I found myself jarringly taken out of the drama by consistent errors in British English. Math not maths, 'enn-velope' not 'on-velope', one brother having an upper class accent, the other Estuary English. (I could probably also pick holes in Henry's shirt tailoring, but I can live with that).
Can't imagine it would take much to have got this sorted.
Roadkill (2020)
Compelling political drama
If it were a book I wouldn't have been able to put it down.
Hare does a brilliant job in portraying Peter Laurence, a politician with a nose for power, wriggling his way through the system. Despite his awfulness, he is still a rounded, three dimensional character. Sometimes you even find yourself rooting for the cad.
With an unpredictable, intersecting plot line, some surprising turns and a great cast and score, this is a must-watch if you like political thrillers. Just don't expect it to do much to raise your expectations of politicians.
