Expats (2023)
A waste of time
I don't do a ot of reviews but I'm adding one in hopes I can save someone else from spending 6 hours watching and have nothing to show.
Most mini-series start out slow to introduce all the characters, this show never appeared to have any success in developing character lines. Each episode has no cohesion to the previous episode, and the fifth episode was like watching a completely different show and had absolutely nothing to do with the storyline.
Once again, another Prime series that leaves to audience hanging with no resolution to anything that occurred in earlier episodes. I have no doubt this show will be cancelled. If not, it should be.
CNN This Morning (2022)
Please take us out of misery
This morning show is painful to watch. Having these three on at the same time is awkward. They talk over each other and seem disconnected from other hosts. Ms. Collins has no apparent integrity or authenticity, and does not seem to interact with the other hosts.
Don Lemmon was good in his evening spot. I don't know what happened to him, but he comes across as smug, privileged and arrogant. His on site coverage of the Memphis Police killing was an absolute train wreck. He failed to connect with the audience and made it too personal.
CNN is struggling, but has some good people. They are just in the wrong place. Robin Meade was so much better in the morning than these three.
Rebel (2021)
Sad it's canceled
This was an awesome binge watching series with great characters and storyline. Don't understand it not making it to another season, but at least no cliffhanger at the end of season 1.
This Is Us: Us (2022)
Not the ending I expected
The writers of this show have been phenomenal at tying story lines together over the seasons. The train episode last week was an awesome episode with hopes of building the finale.
To not show the kids final moments and the eulogies at the funeral was almost insulting. When Jack died, we saw how they handled life and adjusted. Rebecca dies and it was incredibly anti-climactic for me as a viewer.
The hype building up to the series finale didn't come close to the actual episode.
The Stranger (2020)
Awesome Suspense Thriller
I enjoyed this series so much. The plot seems confusing in the early episodes and sometimes felt like I was lost but stuck with it. For those in doubt, stick with it! It all does come together in the end.
Parts of the finale were a bit too Hollywood, but not enough to spoil the plot.
2022 Billboard Music Awards (2022)
Tired
Tired of the "Oppressed" discussion. Hard to see it with this mediocre at best host. Enough is enough if you want people to watch. People listen to different types of music based on their taste, doesn't make someone racist. Keep politics out of your show and people might watch. Absolutely pathetic resulting in changing channel.
Long Slow Exhale (2022)
Great story line, disappointing season
While the story line is great, I hate series that are introduced that never close anything out at the end of the season in hopes of additional seasons. If the series is not renewed for season 2, the viewer has wasted 8 hours of watching with no closure. Sometimes a 1 season that closes out the story line can generate interest in additional seasons. This show has one of those topics that has long been swept under the rug that could warrant more.
Based on season 1, I won't be held hostage waiting for season 2. Very disappointed viewing.
1883 (2021)
Hard to connect stories
The acting is fantastic, but it's hard to connect to the popular show. This is a prequel that should have had some type of introduction to the characters from 1883 in the present day show Yellowstone. Seems like two different shows trying to get people to buy the streaming service to see how they connect. I'm not biting on their bait. We pay too much for cable tv to get sucked into streaming. Disappointing.
The Sinner: Part VIII (2021)
Disappointing Finale
This episode was odd in the way it tied up loose ends. Not sure how to define how disappointing this series finale was. Nothing learned and not believable in the acting. Things happen that make no sense, and no closure. A waste of an hour.
American Crime Story: The Wilderness (2021)
Disappointing finale
Watched this entire series and enjoyed the story development. The ending to this episode was unexplainable. The storyline just ends without closing out the other victims and what happens. Absolutely no closure whatsoever.
60 Minutes: Presidential Inauguration Security/Siege on the US Capitol/Alex Smith's Comeback (2021)
An inflammatory episode
I generally like this program, but had to turn tonight's episode off. Having guests stating this attack on the Capitol was the most predictable event in modern times is ridiculous. I didn't see his headline on that morning stating this attack was going to happen. It's easy to be a Monday morning quarterback. This show lost a lot of credibility at a difficult time in our country.
