Self Indulgent Acting & Lame Direction Make this Movie flop Hard
4 June 2013
This movie sucks. Period. The characters are vapid and uninteresting and compete undeveloped. The attempt at scares are amateur at best. This felt like a vanity project funded by washed up actresses. Literally no redeeming qualities in this movie whatsoever.

It felt like the movie was had over by the time the first sister was done talking with herself and the movie tried to be scary.

Rebecca Demornay even sings. Sad, sad, sad.

Skip this movie. Or maybe make up a drinking game for it. Something like take a drink every time you realize what a terrible film this is- seriously. Lol

Going against the grain here-- I like this film...
21 April 2013
OK, it's not Oscar material but it is campy fun with a plot that you can root for... I think the casting was great because it was all over the place... This film seemed to liberally borrow from both Star Trek and Planet of the Apes- not bad source movies... But it still brought enough originality to be (IMHO) very entertaining... The "ook ook" monkey sounds of the 'humans' is a little (no, a LOT) dumb but hey- this is Hollywood and you have to sometimes dumb down... It's one of my go to films when I can't find something new to watch...

If you haven't seen it, give it a watch! If you look in DVD bargain bins you can pick it up cheap (I got mine for $1)... Should that tell me something? Nope, I got Citizen Cane for $1, too... LOL

Movies should entertain, right? :)

An HONEST Opinion Of This Movie
12 November 2006
OK, I've finally watched this movie... It didn't suck. It wasn't great. Bottom Line: It was OK, not bad overall...

I read with great amusement the comments made by the other posters on the board. Heh heh, thanks for the laughs, folks... One of the problems with a lot of the posts, though, is the eternal mindset by TOO many people - it either blew and was the worst movie ever made (it wasn't) _OR_ it was great, scary, atmospheric, creepy, gross, etc (it wasn't).... Always polarized opposites. I used to laugh at my kids when had this same mentality. Backstreet Boys or N'Sync? One ALWAYS had to be loved and the other hated.

The movie was interesting with its Marylin Manson-esquire video shooting, the story was pretty choppy, but followable. The acting was not bad, but a little shallow at times. Overall I found it a decent watch. I would recommend it to folks that have seen pretty much everything out (not a lot) and are tired of renting the same old stuff from the video store...
