Happy Death Day 2 U (2019)
Hear me out... this movie makes no sense
Like most of it was like "oh no in this dimension my moms alive but my boyfriend is dating someone else" and then in the end she's like saying goodbye to her mom and kisses the guy anyway... so why doesn't she stay where her mom is alive and date him in that dimension. It just makes nooo sense. She had no reason at all to go back. What the what!!!
Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021)
movie of my dreams
When I was probably 8 I literally fantasized about a movie like this. I'm so happy and thankful that this was made.
Westworld (2016)
This is in my top 10 favorite shows.
I'm seriously not exaggerating when I say 10/10. I cannot think of a single thing wrong with this show. If you take it at face value, you may see things that you mistake as flaws but this series is so complex and layered. Every episode is thoroughly entertaining the moment you start until it ends. It's not something you can sit on your phone with and watch casually or take a break with for a couple of months. (Nor would you want to!) It's almost like a movie going experience that requires attention to appreciate the full extent of the story. Acting, music, sets, script, the characters - this show is just so good.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
I give it a 7.5 but I'm calibrating
This movie is good. It's thoroughly entertaining from beginning to end. The stunts alone are worth the watch. I went into this movie WANTING to be entertained and I was! I personally liked way it was slightly stylized like 80s movies. It reminded me at moments of Back to the Future or the campiness of Spider-Man 3. And at the same time it was beautiful and serious when it needed to be. Every characters was super interesting and fun to watch. Not the typical "Bad Guy wants to destroy the world just because he's bad" storyline. This movie feels like another chapter of a Wonder Woman story and I felt a similar experience of reading another graphic novel within the same universe.
I respect anyones opinion but a one star review for this movie is just beyond ridiculous and mellow dramatic.
Scare Me (2020)
Fun horror movie with quality characters and script
It's honestly so refreshing not seeing a horror movie that doesn't rely on an unsettling music score, cgi, or torture to try to be entertaining. It's super original with really great acting. I think people who are easily frightened will have an easier time watching this one. It's overall a fun time!
Crazy, Not Insane (2020)
A stigmatizing "documentary"
90% of violent crimes are committed by people who do not have any history of serious mental illnesses. I'm pretty sure people suffering with serious mental illnesses are actually more likely to be the victims rather than perpetrators of violent crimes. I can't believe film makers didn't do a preliminary moment of research and actually agreed to making this. I knew from the first 10 minutes this movie started it would be littered with false information contributing to the dangerous and offensive myths affecting the already struggling mental health community. This doctor on numerous occasions made evil synonymous with serious mental illness. My heart just broke for everyone watching this that suffers from DID or SMIs and those that have or lost loved ones that do. I could not believe this movie was made in 2020.
After watching this, I followed up with a fact check and it's absolutely riddled with misleading information or falsehoods so she can support her narrative. If these killers were just in a dissociative state, why would they be covering up and hiding their crimes?
I also found it baffling that audiences and Laura Dern just accepted the fact that this woman was painting these terrible killers to be merely victims of their conditions without even mentioning the people that they killed. Who thought this was a good idea or this woman had credibility?
Movies like this are the reason why those living with smi are estranged from their families, fired from their jobs, become homeless... The producers and filmmakers need to take some accountability for the dangerous stigma they create.
