A young couple, Chris and Celia arrive on a Greek island for a break and decide to spend their holiday killing and torturing the local and visiting sexual deviants. This film is one that would offend anyone as it depicts scenes of bestiality, incest and torture. Women and goats are raped, people are pissed on and nailed to the floor, lesbians are torched and people are forced to drink paint.

An Italian gore fest by Director Peter Newton (AKA Joe D'Amato, AKA Aristide Massaccesi.) Originally filmed as a follow up to "Anthropophagous the Beast". George Eastman once again stars in the leading role, this time playing a mental patient who escapes from hospital and goes on a rampage. There are heads being baked in oven's and various power tool murders (including the use of a bandsaw). In return he suffers his guts unraveling on railings, blinding by compasses and an axe in the head. A great movie indeed.

Fulci regular Katherine MacColl moves into a new house, only to find it was once the residence of Dr Freudstein, who's bizarre experiments on the undead are still hanging about in the cellar. Gore fans will not be disappointed with this film.

Remembering how he killed his father and mother with an axe after finding them engaged in a bondage session, he subsequently goes on to menace his son, ex-wife and her new flame. There's also some spectacular gore scenes which were supervised by SFX wizard Tom Savini. See the uncut Dutch print because the pre-cert version on WOV 2000 was cut by over 10 mins. The nastiest of all the video nasties was this offering by Italian director Umberto Lenzi, which is currently banned in 31 countries. 3 New York university students are venturing into the Amazon jungle when they cross paths with a couple of drug dealers, one of which being the illustrious John Morghen (AKA Giovanni Lombardo Radice), who have been running amok with the local cannibal tribe. Not splitting any hairs about who is and isn't involved with Mr. Morghen, all parties concerned find themselves being served up on the natives next menu. This film boasts extremely violent scenes and sickening acts of repeated GENUINE animal mutilations. A nasty that lives up to its reputation.

One of the better cannibal flicks by rival director Ruggero Deodato. A documentary film crew go into the Amazon jungle and are never seen again. A search and rescue team are sent, but find only their remains and their stock of film that they had shot about the last remaining cannibal tribes. Upon viewing the found footage they find that the film crew had brought about their own demise by pissing off the local tribes who subsequently ganged up on them and murdered the crew in the most brutal of fashions. This film has suffered several outrageous claims about being a real snuff movie, but that is the case with most cannibal capers, as they feature GENUINE animal butchery and extreme violence. The original GO video release was cut by 6 min 24 secs.

An extremely brutal and shocking film about a young author who is attacked and repeatedly raped by 3 local rednecks and their retarded friend whilst on holiday in the countryside. Camille Keaton stars in the lead role as the poor victim who following the assault, goes on a quest for revenge and hangs, castrates and chops the 4 attackers to death in retribution. This is another one of the films that started off the "Video Nasties" furore by the media, owing to the extremely lengthy gang rapes which are depicted with gritty realism and are almost unwatchable. Directed by Meir Zarchi, this is perhaps one of the most famous of the video nasties probably because it is one of the better films on the list.

This is one of many so called Video Nasties about fictionalised World War 2 Nazi POW camp atrocities. The film focuses on a senior female SS officer who has created a half man/half beast dwarf creature in a bizarre genetic experiment. She goes on to torture the female POW's in her care by giving them to the vertically challenged beast who subsequently "bonks" them to death. The SS officer has the tables turned on her at the films climax when the POW's get the upper hand and give her a taste of her own medicine. This film has a load of vile scenes and genital torture. Another video nasty that can actually be called 'nasty'.

This is one of the many sleazy World War 2 Nazi camp movies. The poor female POW's get raped and groped by all and sundry at the camp, but in an amusing comic twist the commandant decides he wants a new pair of testicles and so removes them from one of the hunky guards, who doesn't seem to realise until he goes to bonk one of the French prisoners. This provides one of the most amusing scenes when he confronts the commandant and says "What have you been doing with my balls?". This is another title responsible for the "Video Nasties" furore by the media. Although by today's standards it could be passed with BBFC cuts.
Snuff

This film directed by Roberta & Michael Findlay is NOT an actual snuff film. This originally started life as a low budget South American flick entitled "The Slaughter" about a Manson style gang of cycle sluts lead by a chap called Sa-Tan, who go around killing people. This film did a brief tour of South America then sat on the shelf for many years before being snapped up by a New York distributor who tagged on an additional 5 minute ending. At the end of the film we see the film crew on one of the sets, who then grab an unfortunate actress and proceed to cut off her fingers and pull offal from under her T-shirt. This movie is still believed by many to be genuine snuff to this day and was another one of the movies responsible for starting the "Video Nasties" furore.

Famous for being the very first in the wave of sleazy "Nasty Nazi" movies, predating the Canadian "Isla" and the notorious Italian "Death Camp" movies. 2 young WAC officers go undercover as POW's in a prison camp hoping to get some information from a scientist that's being held there, before being sprung by the french resistance. Unfortunately things go wrong with the break out and they end up overstaying their welcome, They are then subjected to the same indignities as the other inmates. A few nasty scenes appear in this movie but by today's standards these could be cut by the BBFC and passed for release.

This film is one of the best made of the video nasties. Alex (David Hess) rapes and strangles a young woman in the back of her car before the credits start to roll. Soon after a young rich couple pull into their garage to see if they can fix their car. They agree but only if they can tag along to their party. After fixing the car Alex and Ricky (John Morghen AKA Giovanni Lombardo Radice) tag along. They spend the best part of the film terrorizing the 5 yuppies at the party. There's gore, torture and rape applenty. Hess is awesome as the crazed rapist and Morghen is equally great as the retard. This film is one you must see. The ending is truly amazing.
