Awkward episode
19 June 2023
I found this episode a little odd. Eddie Hodges proved he couldn't act all that well actually in it. He was difficult to watch and listen to. Laura should have caught on immediately. It was too obvious. For what is considered a well written and acted sitcom 60 years ago falls short by today's standards. The usually neurotic Laura toned it down a tad in this one. The whole episode never really developed a plot worth watching. Dick Van Dyke has not held up like some others of that era. Whatever happened to Eddie Hodges anyway. He just seemingly disappeared from the Hollywood scene. Didn't enjoy his musical skills either.

Fake facial expressions by the host.

They preview this horrific show every single day on the noon news hoping that at least one viewer will watch it. How she ever got a talk show is mystifying. She is un listenable and un watachable. All she does is make a round expression like she is amazed what a guest says which is nothing. They are going to run out of boring guests very soon if they haven't already. Cancel this dribble and bring back a soap opera. I will not buy any product advertised on it which is easy because I do not plan to ever watch it period. She has no interview skills or any skills that I am aware of. This is the time slot that Meghan Markle wanted for a hard hitting show that would have substance to it.

Something is slightly off about this show.

The basic idea was sound but that 29 years is kind of bothersome. Those women in their mid 40's are not that appealing. Jodie Sweetin does not seem into it. Candace Cameron Bure who does not even look the same. Andrea Barber is a little rusty after those 29 years.

Early episode in the Rifleman series was crude by comparison to later entries. Connors clearly had not developed his reputation yet the townspeople respected him to the max. No Micah Torrance in the episode was missed as Connors had to back him up weekly against more imposing thugs that these three plus a somewhat reticent Claude Akins. I have seen hm act tougher in other shows. It was a real bad episode. I could have written a better script for this.

Plot seemed quite contrived from the usual.

Warning: Spoilers
There were other Rifleman half hour segments where a revenge minded relation of one of Lucas's victims came gunning for him. This was a new twist and this kid had moxie in the beginning but I had a hard time believing Lou could instantly transform him into a prankster who all of a sudden is best friends with Mark. I was waiting for him to switch back into his original personna but the half hour ran by too quickly. If I were Lucas I would have shot him and asked questions later.

Richard Correll showcase
21 May 2021
They threw a bone to RIchard Correll in this episode to showcase him for a future spot in a series. It didn't work. This episode didn't work. They ran out of time in this episode and had none left to lecture and punish the Beav. Correll was given a large chunk of air time in this episode and was inconsistent throughout. He did not have appeal and Gilbert was preferred by the directors. It drove Correll into a directing career coincidentally.

lumber for the mill
9 February 2021
Poor Blue. he had to drag all the lumber down from the mountain to fulfill this contract. Things did not add up here. Chopping those trees down, trimming them, dragging a 10' log down a mountain with a mule must have taken hours to complete.

Best TV series on the air

I'm doing a series review also. This episode was top notch and Sheldon's video presentation was off the charts brilliant. Craig T. Nelson also shone in this one. Annie Potts deserves an Emmy and Raegan Revord is a budding superstar. This show has developed into something much better than the Big Bang Theory was. At first I had my doubts about this project but was wrong.
