Jiok (2021)
Sorry...
I hate myself for what I'm about to do, but it has to be done. I'm really, really failing to understand what it is people are failing to understand here. This is a blatant commentary on religious zealotry and why it isn't a good thing. It should've also been patently obvious that it was about religious hypocrisy. And though it can't be stated how annoying he is or how much I dislike him, I believe the painted freak that lives for condemning every one is basically the entire point of the show. I wish people would stick to what they actually like watching and stop leaving stupid reviews that aren't fair.

To those of you who don't understand the bad reviews- let me explain. I'm three episodes in and am bored to death. It is not because I have a poor attention span. It is not because I have add. It's because this is trite, slow, plodding drivel that makes no sense. I have no issue whatsoever with slow burns, but for the sake of my sanity do it right.
From Within (2008)
LMFAO
Came to the reviews looking for triggered folks and was not disappointed. The film isn't necessarily scary because of the suicides or the dopplegangers. Its an entertaining look at people who don't know when to stop... and subsequently get what they have coming as a result.
Midsommar (2019)
Just loud
Unnecessarily loud. A bit grotesque in some places and long and tedious for the rest. Skip this one.
The Babadook (2014)
Baba don't.
Ignore the reviews that say people didn't like it because they didn't get it. Understand that a good portion of this "masterpiece" is one of the main characters screaming. Constantly. If that's what constitutes a masterpiece, I'll settle for the low brow horror all the art deco snobs who think they're better then everybody constantly make mention of. This hot garbage was nowhere near The Shining or The Conjuring. Do yourself a favor and just don't. There has to be a better way to tell a story about mental illness then making your viewers mental by having a child shriek endlessly.
Hereditary (2018)
Stop It Already
Oh, it's scary alright!!! Scary that major duds like these are becoming more and more common. Over hyped, over long, and overly plot hole ridden!!!!! The scariest part of this whole vile cinematic dung heap was the daughter who constantly looked like her face was dirty.

They Did It Again
The Lodge. St. Maude. The Block Island Sound. Dear Art House Film Snobs- kindly knock it off with this nonsense. Every time you people rave about how amazing something is and that you don't understand the bad reviews the film ends up being a gigantic steaming cinematic dung heap and you sing it's praises. Ps- slow burns are amazing! ... when they're done correctly. If someone doesn't like something it's because it's long, drawn out, and dull, not because it went over their heads.
O Escolhido (2019)
Seven Deadly Sins
An intriguing/entertaining/convoluted look at the human condition and what happens when one's pride/hubris takes over. Also a look at what happens when lust inspires disloyalty and unfaithfulness to one's partner. When I first started debating watching this show I didn't think I'd be hooked from the first episode. I'm very intrigued by the clash of religious fanaticism with the overzealous drs who all have their own motives and reasons for doing them and finding out that none of them are truly good, moral, upstanding people. Additionally, with current events being what they are, I feel this is very timely.

Yikes
So... A quote from one of the people who wrote the story was saying that you aren't supposed to be able to know that you dislike someone right away. They dropped the ball with that one because I...disliked the father... right away. Why? Because. One of the very first scenes is the children's biological mother dropping them off and she looks like she's just given up on life. Which it turns out she has because their divorce isn't even finalized and he tells her he's marrying another woman. So what does she do? Spoiler she commits suicide and the kids are more then a bit resentful of dear old dad and I can't say I blame them because his actions throughout the film are completely reprehensible and I would've cut all ties after what he'd done. So the children tell him, upon learning of his intention to marry Grace, that they don't want to go on vacation with her a measly six months after their mother commit suicide and the father insists upon it any way. To the surprise of absolutely no one, things go terribly, terribly wrong when the children take their revenge and it goes too far. Were the children wrong for doing what they did? Yes. Was the father a selfish, careless, imbecile who deserved what ended up happening to him for putting them in this situation? Yes. I say put the blame where it belongs. With the children's idiot of a father who only thought of himself and what he wanted.
