Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre (2023)
The dumbest person to ever exist could have written a better script.
I love Guy Ritchie movies. Some of the bad ones are some of the most fun movies to watch. Rock'n'Rolla is my all time favorite movie. I had to watch it 3 times to understand 80% of what was really happening.
Smart writing. Great dialogue and exciting characters. That used to be synonymous with the name.
Something must have happened here. A billionaire who ghost wrote this thinking he could do a good job at it? Watching the movie that makes sense. The plot really tells me that story. It does not make sense, that anybody, who had anything to do with good movies in the past greenlit this project. Unless they were just paid off.
Vee peal (2020)
This is how they used to make movies
An oldschool feel for a soviet era flick. You could feel the era. Estonia used to make a ton of these kinds of movies.
The characters all seemed genuine. Probably, because they were young when this was supposedly took place and they remember it. Well written script. Nothing really out of place. The movie took me back to a time before i was alive, but I still felt everything was correct.
The kids acted quite well. The general feeling of being lost came though. I hope, as intended. Their interactions with the adults and the "adults" were perfect. Having the main character be a child, but him mostly just reacting to his world brilliant. That's what growing up is. I guess.
The Get Together (2020)
Cinematography was great
I was amazed the whole movie how stunning the shots were. Reminded me of other great movies. All of it was just stunning.
The acting and the cast was great. Didn't like the plot or the dialogue that much - so this is definitely not for everyone.
All in all a fun movie that was filmed/edited well.
Silk Road (2021)
Feels like a screenplay written by a someone who told him the story
Silk Road is a story that can not be made up. If there was a smart person who got their hands on this project, this could have been another "Social Network" kind of movie - this was not that - Even from my little knowledge of the true events, half of the time I was like: "This is made up - this did not happen like this" - and if it was fun or better than what actually happened. I would have been fine.
This movie just left more questions unanswered than it actually answered. People who never heard of this story now have to go listen to the podcast to actually find out what happened. I feel like that is not a great thing.
My girlfriend liked it tho and will not care that they skipped a bunch of stuff, so 5/10 - average to great movie!
Trailer Park Jesus (2012)
Seems stupid at first but picks up and gets really fun
I wanted to stop the movie 2-3 times before the 20 minute mark, but the comments here and elsewhere were all really good and I stuck with it and I am glad I did.
It was obvious from the beginning that this is a low budget movie, but a story like this wouldn't probably work any other way. Too quirky & stupid really as a concept, but works because of the good intentions. Pulled off well in the end by the director.
Writing this for people who are also slightly put off by the slow beginning to tell them to stick with it.
Also, I can't believe Danie Coleman hasn't been in more movies. Just too hot.
