Kipchoge: The Last Milestone (2021)
No Human Is Limited
What a beautiful film. Moreover, what a beautiful person. Eliud Kipchoge successfully inspired millions of people through his extraordinary mindset. Perhaps the best part of this movie was the fact that Eliud wasn't the one telling us about himself or what he did. It was the people around him, all of whom you can see are permanently changed by interacting with him. The cinematography was fantastic and the narrative progressed in a fantastic way. Prepare to be inspired :)
Mortal Kombat (2021)
You know what you came here for
When going into this movie, I was expecting some awesome fight scenes and a few origin stories. And That's exactly what you get. The character development and most all of the plot line was pretty weak, and the movie felt like it was jumping around way too much. It's very difficult to introduce so many different characters in such a short time and make us attached to them.
The fight scenes were very good in my opinion. I was blown away with how many shots there were that contained very few cuts which made the fights very fluid. The first fight scene was the best by far, but that's not to say that any of the other ones were lacking.
Overall, what you would expect this movie to achieve, it absolutely did. I loved the references to the video games, and even if you never played any of the games that's okay too.
It's a pretty fun watch that I could reccomend.
WandaVision (2021)
Almost amazing
I loved this show so much till the ending became a stereotypical disney/marvel film. The first 8 episodes were absolutely fantastic in all terms, and the actors had wonderful chances to shine. Then, the final conflict became a cgi nightmare with two characters yelling and overpowering each other. Agatha and the director were such one sided villains with no motives that their defeat was extremely unsatisfying. It's a shame that such a wonderful idea and narrative of grief and denial was done such an injustice. I am hopeful for future films.
