Revenge (2017)
Not woth viewer's time
In short it's both unrealistic & stupid.
Starts with the impossibility of a mistress surviving when pierced by a dead tree through her mid-section. It's absurd.
Secondly, the men she pursued to kill had deadly wounds leading to huge blood loss. I've had a foot injury once and and the blood loss almost lead to a black-out. Here the guy keeps going and they show that his foot is pumping blood every time he presses the accelerator but not affected by the huge blood loss.
Lastly, the final guy gets shot pretty nastily but goes around roaming all over the house spilling his own blood.
The biggest spoiler is both while stalking each other is walking on blood but only the girl skids!!
It's easy to fool the gullible just so much!!
Simply a waste of time.
Kus Uçusu (2022)
very poor script
Taking watchers/viewers to be absolute idiots. An unknown person cons her way into an interview, finally a job and HR doesn't check facts, authorisations etc.
Hope that's the case in the real world. Unemployment wouldn't be a problem plaguing any more would it?
In the modern world, you presumably use the office network and keep leaking vital info' and no one's the wiser. How convenient. Try doing that in the modern office and see how long before you get detected and caught.
Guy's make a serial but try to give it a semblance of credibility.
Los herederos de la tierra (2022)
A disjointed script
Must have been written by someone who forgot what he's written in the page before.
The inconsistency of the character of Hugo is one such glaring example. While as a child he's fiery and does the most inconceivable things that would instantly get him into trouble. It did.
When grown up the boy become a eunuch and even fails to protect his dreams and his loved ones.
Script is so loose that it failed to develop into a credible story line.
Result is a piece of completely boring production that would even challenge an idiotic mind.
It exposes deep corruption within the church hierarchy ( for how else does Hugo's sister get pregnant? )
If this the quality of western fables it's sure to suck!
Anatomy of a Scandal (2022)
Not quite as fascinating .....
The objective was to show that with changing times the elite should be seen as equal before the law as the rest.
Given that objective the story line goes thru' with a series of court-room scenes which are quite interesting. The part played by the lawyers were well-done.
The ending though is where the spoiler happens and kills the entire story line.
The wife after having realised that her husband is not what she imagined him to be gives away a secret, he had long entrusted to her, to ensure he pays for all his sins.
The series ends with the elite ( i.e. Her husband) being escorted by the police.
Justice has been served. Guilty punished but has it?
It fails to show whether the wife who spilled the beans was also prosecuted for being an abettor to the crime ( by with holding the knowledge of a criminal act) and also for having provided him with an alibi.
The series ends showing her having a whale of a time with her kids.
So where was the complete justice served?
Out of Death (2021)
Taking viewers for a ride
Shoddy story.
Expects viewers to be stupid. How do you expect viewers to accept that a photo journalist shooting a crime scene would keep on snapping when already sufficient has been captured, to the point that she's discovered. The story would not have happened otherwise so......
Another time when sherrifs officer is in close range she decides to break cover and run. One asks would we do it?
What's the point of making movies out of half baked themes?
Inventing Anna (2022)
Glorifying a con!!
A spoilt brat with big dreams/aims goes about conning the rich and gullible(?) till the Lincoln saying caught up with her. Or shall we say her myopia.
For in trying to glorify a con artist and trying to portray as a young person with a dream to build big one overlooked that business sense was over-ridden with greed. Otherwise one would not have overlooked the fact that for asking such a huge amount of money on loan the under-writers would do a background check good and proper. This is when her veneer of "heiress" fell through.
Also, that a reporter and a lawyer should get into act of glorifying a con artist for their own gains display the kind of moral compass the average New Yorker is guided by.
La Reina de Indias y el Conquistador (2020)
A severe test on one's patience
Can't say whether it's a true narration of history or just man-made fancy made up with a few sprinklings of actual event that may or may not have happened.
But, in reality it has all the trappings of a typical soap.
Mindless back stabbing to keep the pot boiling and episodes dragging do tend to test one's patience and intellect.
Having seen through to ep-8 I do have a strong urge to give up the ordeal of viewing it further.
StartUp (2016)
Weak Plot
Problem with Netflix that they are quite willing to sacrifice a good story to ensure that it runs on and on.
For those who understand technology it's easy to spot the inconsistencies. A computer whizz ( Izzy) develops a code for another of those crypto currencies and is on the look out for a venture capitalist to actuate her dream. So far so good. Her quest to find the support leads to the twist in the tale.
Thus begins the goof ups.......
1. She's supposed to be a whizz but her code is so weak that it's easily hacked. She suspects her neighborhood wifi to believe that it's led the hacker to log on to her system. For those in the know of things of such technology would know that a comp whizz kid also has a robust firewall to prevent such intrusion. Yet if such firewall existed or not it get hacked and then another of her household system ( used by her mother) appears to have enabled the hacker to gain entry. She smashes the system yet a simple power down could have ended the intrusion.
2.0 An rogue FBI agent gets mugged so easily that it brings into question what training they are given.
3.0 Izzy signs a contract but doesn't even bother to read it's content, especially when she sees that her earlier partners are kept out of the deal.
And it goes on.
In the end its a massacre of what could have been a neat clean short story which could have been enjoyable instead of sacrificing logic to turn it into a soap style series.
The White Tiger (2021)
Very avoidable
With a scrappy storyline sub standard delivery this is one show that can definitely be given a miss.
Cocktail of ideas designed to be projected end up in a meaningless mish-mash.
The Queen's Gambit (2020)
Truly a Master-piece
Other than the usual that Netflix throws at you, this is a real gripper. Well made, sensible to understand the travails and trepidation leading to a crescendo at climax.
Nice package and delightful to spend time watching.
Gran Hotel (2011)
Quite a drag
In spite of several other reviews which have raved about the production, this was a proper soap opera designed to drag and at times be extremely monotonous.
Typically as in most soaps the idea to make it long made it go to ludicrous levels and at times became an assault on the senses.
Restricting it to about 24 episodes would perhaps have made the entire serial more pleasant to watch.
Bornoporichoy: A Grammar of Death (2019)
Slipshod
Lots of howlers. This could have been a good movie if more attention was paid to the presentation and howlers eliminated.
