Rick and Morty (2013)
Action!... Fin.
Nope, I don't think this show has a future. It has been lurking in the rock bottom for many years. The show is literally like a teenager. It started nicely, fell due to it's pride and now it's trying to become what people like every single time. The first two seasons are somewhat stupid yet humble. They know what they can and can't do, and they know that they have to add some things to their show even if they are bad at making it. After that point, you can notice that the show literally becomes a teenager who has no friends an has spent most of his, underline his, time and then couldn't take even a little bit of negativity no matter what the context is. After becoming more arrogant per episode, the episode justifies this by saying that what Rick did isn't bad because he's dead inside or some emo garbage like that. After wasting multiple episodes doing these, the show seems to come to conclusions with the fact that this will only lead it to become forever alone just like Rick. Here comes the relatable moments. Everyone who will die alone would like these episodes. Obviously, some people who are not a part of the sheep getting herded by sheep due to their loneliness making any positive interaction stroke their ego harder than any force in the universe fandom said that the new episodes are pretty much being desperate explained in half a season. Oh, and we got the rest of the season and... It's literally inoffensive. I like it. The Rick and Morty writing team is not smart enough to tackle any subject. The show may be mostly about our 2 main characters, but the show makes me feel like the lead writer is literally Jerry himself. OK music, OK style, OK designs, good pacing, not recommended for most occasions. You can watch it now and then for a dry adventure to pass time while multitasking.
BoJack Horseman (2014)
Lacking
This show is missing too much. I can only like the characters and everything except that is passable. This show didn't get a 5/10 or lower because there's an understandable, unique and traceable story that moves at a reasonable speed. This doesn't mean that the story is fun. The jokes are not funny at all and Archer pulls off everything better in the story department. I think that the jokes are Family Guy level with a distinct lack of hue. The show decides to go from cartoony to relatively serious so fast that I wouldn't like this transition unless there were at least 1 or 2 seasons leading the show to this direction instead of just dropping you in a comically slow quicksand that can only be compared to grimdark medieval fantasy stories. This is also a failed experiment that doesn't hold up to a standard I like. Action is nearly non existent and everything gets duller every time something bad happens that I can't relate to, feel bad for or think deeply about until we see what Butterscotch Horseman experiences. This is probably my favorite episode in this show and yet any other episode that tries to tackle deteriorating mental health or any kind of mental problem at all makes it look so passionless that I feel worse while watching commercials. The show isn't engaging enough to make me want to continue watching either. What makes Bojack Horseman good? The Music? Obviously not. The visuals? You can run this thing on flash. Why does anyone like this show? I give this show 3 stars for understanding how to make characters and 1 for every other thing. I think that this show doesn't deserve anything and it's not sincere enough to make a good story out of the topics it decided to work on. I only gave it 1 extra star due to the collective effort of voice actors and visual artists who have done what they could do to hide Bojack's horse cock every time he's naked to avoid mentally scarring the audience.
Beastars (2019)
Season 2 Can be Better
Beastars is a somewhat down to earth anime that may interest you if you like to study relationships between people if another factor that made us different existed. I think that just because the show is close to being political means it has to be watched like a political show. I can say that because other topics get as much screen time as politics in most episodes. I also don't think that the writer is too educated on racial issues. You can call this racism but it's the reality. Asian people have more similarities compared to other ethnicities and I believe that there are less factors that give people more physical quirks in their society. I'm not educated enough to say anything about the different backgrounds these people came from except that Japan was divided to many smaller territories for centuries. Because of this, most characters in the show don't feel that real personality wise. Characters who talk about race are too ridiculous to take seriously. The inner dialogues most characters have are mediocre at best and unintentionally hilarious at worst. The first scene where Legoshi discovers his instincts makes me crack a smile. I appreciate the fact that there aren't many jokes in this show because it's no secret that there aren't any animes that made me laugh or even crack a smile on purpose. The visuals were alright, but the flow was very weak. While looking at most things, I could only see a texture lazily placed on a somewhat decent model. Some effects were weird. The music in the show was good enough. I didn't feel too much emotion in the voice acting. I think that this is very close to BNA in story, which is bad because both stories suck. The stories are not engaging, the characters would be serviceable if these shows aired on Disney Channel and I can only feel like I'm exploring the writer's fantasies and personal world instead of experiencing a story. I give this show a four for the animations and music, one for the story and one for a pulling feeling I have that I can't explain. I feel like the next season will be better because there will probably be more action. I would give the show a zero if the show focused more on romance and "politics" instead of action, which was better to watch. I'm going to stop dragging here.
Larry Charles' Dangerous World of Comedy (2019)
Unlikeable Personalities
The show goes downhill extremely as fast after the first 2 episodes. These two episodes have people who have good stories and they give good reasons on why they turn situations that upset people into comedy. They make clear why some things work when they make jokes about them and how their jokes work. I respect these people and they respect comedy. They know what comedy is at its core. We see the importance of comedy in people's lives and how it impacts people no matter where they are. Comedy is a part of the human experience and we see that what people like is different, and the need for comedy has a different reason. All of this makes the first episodes more respectable and you can feel a deep amount of thought put in by the comedians featured on this show. Then these last two episodes come and they could only set in a valid feeling of frustration. Theses episodes make clear how oblivious Larry is in general, just like the people he interviews. You can see that people who talk the most about racial equality are the most oblivious in these episodes. There's a lack of empathy and understanding. And most of these people also don't look like they can hear what's coming out of their mouth. The doom of foolishness sets in from the American interviews. The native American people literally criticize comedy shows for misrepresenting their culture. A black woman says that the media represents the experience of African American citizens. You can see that these Native American comedians are somehow unable to understand that this happens to any culture on comedy shows. These people also criticize people who misuse their culture accidentally. I can understand that they have the right to be offended, but that doesn't mean that they aren't wrong. They can just shoo out anyone who does anything about their culture and give a lesson about their culture even though the reason why people misused their culture from the start was the fact that this topic isn't fully interesting to them. They also say that they are representing their cultures, but I still don't understand how these people are fulfilled by the job they are doing right now. The black lady also ignorantly also makes the point I stated above, and acts like black people can't come from different backgrounds. This episode is just a pat on the back for people who try their hardest to stand out using things so they can hide their lack of personality. The sexism episode, which is the last episode, limelights too many people. These people also show a general lack of social intelligence. They think that anyone who gives them a bad glare is only doing this because they aren't straight. They somehow can't cope with the fact that what they do is something people aren't used to and they are just interested. This is obviously considered to be rude but this is something we all have. It's just a habit humans have which didn't turn out to be good in this age. These people who act like they are ahead of their time are still showing the same problems people have shown for eons. This is a basic loophole that repeats as people try to find a spot in the time they live, and it's mostly wrong due to people trying to become the opposite of what the people who existed before them did, which is influenced by the culture portrayed a in a span of hundred or so years ago before their birth. They can't cope with the fact that they aren't too special. These two episodes show that if you're as pathetic as the people in these episodes, you're going to die and won't be remembered because chasing your own tail for your whole life isn't too memorable if you do it in every part of your life.
