I rented this movie like a week ago, i heard a lot about it, and the Beatles music also attracted me, but when i started seeing it, i knew it wasn't what i was expecting for. maybe it is the fact that i'm not American, so i absolutely didn't feel identified with any of the characters or the plot, but even when i'm not American, if the script was good enough, it should have make me felt involved in the movie than i did... but it didn't. Even when the performances were OK, and some characters were really interesting, i don't think i'm ever going to rent that movie again, though i don't regret of watching it, cause i learned a few thing and i got to see an amazing art direction, which is, in my opinion, the most remarkable aspect about Across the universe.

Not that bad actually...

When i went to see this movie i knew there wasn't very good reviews about it, but after i saw it, i disagree with some of them. at the beginning it's a bit boring , and the Concepcion story it's terrible because i'm from Chile, and the city they showed has nothing to do with the real Concepcion, they also let people from there like ignorant, which is not. I put that away and saw the rest of the movie, which wasn't that bad, at the end it was very attractive, the effects, the girl, everything really makes you stay focus on the movie, even if it's a bit predictable, the end is the best. I don't know why people put this movie that bad... it isn't. The cast worked really good, specially Swank and Robb, this last was good at her character , which was complex. Well for my point of view you wont regret of watching this movie, so don't listen if they say it's too bad to watch.

This is quiet an amazing movie! All of it its really well done, the name Babel really goes with the movie and it should pass to the story. The actors were great, each one in their own characters, and there are a lot of characters, some really complex and some simple but still great. The chaos is present all along the movie and it shows you how so many different people and so many different countries can be affected by a misunderstood fact like a shot. Along the movie, the scenes change a lot of place and also time, that's the greatness of the director and the script, and every change is perfectly done, even the music and the sounds are great. I hope you all go to see it cause it deserve 2 hours and 20 minutes of your time, every story is beautiful, and at the end is related to the others. What starts as different stories, countries, cultures, people, ends like just one world...

It keeps your attention all along

Well the movie is not fantastic, but it's enjoyable and the performances are actually good, Love Hewitt was solid on her character, and Jackie Chan was good too.

You can see the movie and enjoy a lot with it, the story has a very good structure, is understandable and the fights are really funny and with a lot of action. The relationship between Jimmy tong (Chan) and the girl at the gallery is predictable since the beginning, and you start to enjoy ever since he left the gallery, and he gets the job as the driver of Clark Devlin. When Del Blaine appears, you can see immediately her strong personality, that crushes with Jimmy Tong when she has to work with him without knowing that he was actually the driver of Clark Devlin, who takes his place because of a car accident.
