LOVE AND THUNDER

You can take humor too far and it appears that you're trying to be funny. Yikes! That's this flick. Thor: Ragnarok, may be my FAVORITE MCU flick, because it has a nice balance. Love and Thunder, missed that mark. It disappointed me. And I was hyped bias going into it. There are cool elements: It's absolutely a Thor AND mythology flick. Little to no connection to the MCU. That did work for me. The run time is good and it is NOT a bad flick, it's just kinda like, OK, I am a fan, I will see it. But I was not amazed. And THIS flick, should have been AMAZING. The guardians are under used as well. Basically a cameo. So, there are things lost. Bale, may be one of the best villains MCU has served up. His performance was wonderful. If you're not a fan, you can wait till Disney +. If you are a fan, it's in theaters now..
Morbius (2022)
6.8 out of 10
I have always known Morbius as a Spider-Man villain. However, going into this, I knew they were going to change him up. Rightfully so. I get what they were going for. They should have gone with a "R" rating. This would have given it the edge this movie needed, without going too far into horror. Instead, they go with Ole faithful "PG-13" and it sucks some of the life out of this one. It doesn't take too long for Morbius to become Morbius and the special effects are GREAT. With that being said, there is something missing. A great antagonist. It felt forced, like they HAD to go the way they did. And that makes for a more predictable flick. Which is what it was always gonna be, I just wish they realized that, as well. You don't have to go to the theater to watch this one. You can wait till it hits a streaming service. Not awful, but it could have been ALOT better.
War on Everyone (2016)
7.7 out of 10.00
I am a fan of Pena and Skaarsgard. Let's start by saying that. BOTH are hilarious in this flick. Real slick dialog and quick quips, get me everytime. It's fun and I like fun. Here is the issue: The dialog, at times feels like they are trying for it. That's the danger of "snark." It has to flow natural and feel effortless. Once that fails, it's in danger of feeling false. That happened a few times. The bad guys were quirky in their right, but you always felt the protagonists were going to best them. And the plot is 2nd seat, to all thier attempts to dazzle you thru those quick jokes. Another mistake. However, it was still fun. And I like fun. Well worth the time. Streaming on HBOMAX.
Moon Knight (2022)

Here comes Marvel! This is a great set up for what seems to be a very intresting series. I already like the dynamic. It's something we haven't seen before. Venom comes close to what they are trying to do. An interesting protagonist and antagonist. Although, yea, the latter seems like the same fodder. Trying to take over the world, for a better world. We seen that. Point is this: They are upping the stakes and giving you a hero, that knows and doesn't know. Streaming on Disney every Wednesday.
Them (2021)
Cat in a bag.
Did you read the headline? Listen, it's been a good while, since I seen something so disturbing. The "Cat in a bag" scene, will burn its way into your memory. The show could have made it on the racial discrimination alone and I was concerned when the supernatural was thrown in, however, it gives this nasty tale of discrimination, the weight it needs to anchor a true horror flick. Prepare to not leave the TV screen for a good 8 hours. Worth your time and attention.
