Poor Things (2023)

Don't be misled by pseudo intellectual praise

A lot of pseudo intellectual praise for a disgusting, ugly movie! I wish I could give this 0 stars. Absolutely the worst movie I have ever seen. Nothing about this is female empowerment, it's pure male exploitation. It disappoints me that Emma Stone agreed to star in this wretched excuse of a movie. Yorgos Lanthimos stole a directing nomination that should have been Greta Gerwig's. Pretentious to call this art. Its pure pornography and even the CGI is terrible. I am grateful that this was the one best picture nomination that I did not watch in the theater but waited to stream. If you haven't watched before the Academy Awards, then save the two hours for something more meaningful. Truly a waste of time.

Overindulgent script

Overrated episode! I found this episode way too long and totally unnecessary. We get it, a crazy ,wacky family at Christmas. We've all been there. I felt no need to spend over an hour on this nonsense. Thirty minutes top would have been enough. The reviewers giving this a 10 must be either pretty young or do not watch many tv shows or movies. Overindulgence on the part of the creator. The acting is excellent, though, and quite a few well known faces show up as extended family members. Those faces alone garner a watch, but not an hour plus. I genuinely feel this episode could be skipped without missing anything important from the storyline.

Foundation (2021– )

Awful!

I gave this a try. Dragged myself through season one, and almost finished with season two. I certainly gave this every chance and it's one of the worst shows I have ever seen. The performances are terrible and there is not one character that's engaging. I can't believe there's a plan for 8 seasons! Who on earth is enjoying this confusing mess? I wasted 20 hours on this because I wouldn't give it up. Figured there must be something here if I just kept going, but alas no. Some of my favorite shows have been on Apple. Ted Lasso, Shrinking, The Morning Show, Severance, they are all excellent!! Highly recommend!! But Foundation is garbage! Please, please don't waste your time on this series. Even the performances are terrible.

This is a true slog of a film. Incredibly boring and unnecessary. The last thing we need is one more movie about the life of Marilyn Monroe. Let the woman rest in peace already. Why on earth this movie has any nominations at all is beyond me. It was totally panned by the critics. The only reason I am watching it is because of the best actress nomination. However nomination or not this movie is one of the worst films I have ever seen. A truly ugly, offensive, disgusting , movie. It took me three sittings on three separate days to get through the entire movie. Do yourself a favor and use the three hours for a more positive movie experience.

Quite entertaining!

Finally a good old fashioned entertaining thriller! I would compare this to the Jack Ryan series. It's refreshing to sit back for a thrilling ride and not a woke fest. I am so exhausted by Hollywood infusing their politics into every production. We all need a break. I think the one thing that we can all agree on, no matter which side of the aisle our politics lean, is enough is enough! I want to be entertained not preached to. As a matter of fact, the preaching is starting to have the opposite effect on me personally. So thanks to Amazon and the cast for a good production.

Conflicted

I still find the series interesting but irritating at times. I miss Damien Lewis but I am fine with the Michael Prince character. I am , however, so sick of bug eyed Giamatti that he would be my reason for not watching. I get that his character is over the top but it's becoming too much. And he was more palatable with the beard. It would have been better to have lost his character and to have given Bobby Axelrod a new adversary. His storyline is becoming ridiculous. Not sure this needs another season.

I just started season six and honestly, I have lost interest. Just too many seasons at this point. Prefer the new limited series that are streaming on other services. Show needs to end.

Usually the Brits do an amazing job with political and crime dramas. This unfortunately is not one of those. The writing is poor and confusing. Georgina Campbell is quite frankly unwatchable! Her accent is terrible and she can't act. Save yourself the time and watch something else.

I wish I could have given this 0 stars. It took me 4 hours to get through this 2 hour movie. Painfully dull. I stayed with it because of Benedict Cumberbatch. But unfortunately even he couldn't move this story along. Please Jane Campion, for the love of God, stop making movies! I still haven't gotten over "The Piano". Another terribly boring movie.

This is positively cringeworthy. It's desperate to be "woke". It didn't need a reboot. It was a time capsule for the 90's and a lot of fun. This is preachy and nauseating like everything else now. Really sick of it.

Tom Hiddleston is great... the end! This series is not up to Marvel standards. It's a confusing mess. I have seen every Marvel movie, and watched both Wanda Vision, and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. I was really looking forward to this and so very disappointed. Don't waste your time.

I loved it! Just binge watched 2 seasons on Netflix and finished season 3 on Hulu! So of course just as it's interesting NBC cancels season 4! So fans let's keep it going on Netflix like we did with Arrested Development.

I was in disbelief with couples picking a wedding over a home. Every episode kept getting worse, but I was in total disbelief with the 23and 24 year old couple! Who gets married at that age in 2021! So they will spend their parents 30 grand and continue to live in their parents home. Unreal!!
