The Iron Claw (2023)

Wanted to like it. Left a little disappointed.

I grew up watching the Von Erich's when I was a kid. I even met Kevin at a sports store grand opening got an autograph with him and Lance. The movie was a little slower than expected and I felt they could've done a better job of developing some of the characters.

There was so much more to each of the siblings, but especially Kerry. They barely glanced over his career and all of a sudden he lost his foot. Then 30 minutes later he died.

Overall it's a very sad story and a glad I saw it but I was hoping it would be one of my favorite movies of the year. Sadly, I was in a sleeper hold due to its slow pace and tapped out.

Big Vape: The Rise and Fall of Juul (2023)

JUUL was the scape goat for vaping

The documentary is very good, but the problem is because JUUL was on top of the mountain during the whole vape epidemic, they took all the bad press. Kids were buying pods off market with a bunch of crap in it but because JUUL was the name brand that they took all the bad press. It wasn't totally all their fault. The documentary is pretty good and I know for sure what was going on because I was in the middle of it as I was working in talent acquisition as a JUUL Partner during this time. I have talked to some of the people in the interviews and while they did grow substantially and they did come and market too younger kids at the end they are responsible for the choices not JUUL.

Scout's Honor: The Secret Files of the Boy Scouts of America (2023)

Awful and sickening

I haven't even had the opportunity to finish this documentary and I'm already mortified. I am 25 minutes into it and the testimonies are awful. These poor kids had their safety, security and their childhood ripped away from them from disgusting and sick perverts. It's a really good documentary with some unfortunate graphic details that must be heard because we don't understand the gravity of what they gone through if you've never been abused in your life. We're at a time in a country where now we're more aware of these things and people can hide behind their name, title, or employer to protect themselves. Be vigilant for the kids!

Ugliest House in America (2022– )

Decent show - Obnoxious Host

It's interesting to see all the homes that need work all over the USA. The host is decent but she really seems to think she is funnier than she is and it's distracting sometimes. The houses that win aren't always the ugliest and they seem to pick houses that don't have a lot of tear out. The remodeled houses look good. I would like to know what the selection process is to have a house win. I have some suspicions they choose some houses based on what they can do for $150k and avoid additional production costs. Hopefully they can redo it a little or even find a better host. It's going to kill the show eventually.

Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico (2023– )

Food looks great, but Eva tries too hard.

Overall the show is decent, but Eva doesn't come across very natural. I feel like she is acting. She talks about her "Mexican American" roots but she seems to misspeak in a few areas as she refers to regions like "The Yucatán" or kept repeating the term "Chilango" over and over again. Chilango is a slur in Mexico regardless what she says. She kept on calling them that over and over like she was trying to sell she was "authentic" and understood the people.

The last episode in Guadalajara showed a guy using a can of ranch style beans for his recipe and it didn't cover the city as it could have been. She ain't no Tucci.

Murder on the Orient Express (2017)

Unwatchable and distracting

This show is nearly impossible to watch because of the background music that constantly plays, coupled with the dialogue being moderately quiet. I had to turn the subtitles on just to make sure I heard everything, but the music just keeps on playing unnecessarily for every single scene. It ruined it for me. I didn't even get through the first whole season episode. Non-stop background music for 20 minutes. Let the story be told. No need to add the music. I guess I know I can get my time back and not worry about the rest of the upcoming episodes. What a shame. Who decided that this was what was needed?

Rocky V (1990)

Weakest of all the Rocky films

I've seen every Rocky multiple times including this one. Of all the films. This one's the weakest storyline and the acting by Tommy Gun is just awful. RIP.

You should see all of them. Just appreciate the whole coming from nothing to something and then back to his home turf. So I would still recommend watching it but of all the movies this one is my least favorite.

I'm also especially irritated by his son who is just a terrible actor in this movie. And what's up with that extra long earring? No one wore that in the 90s. I guess it must be a Philly thing. The kids acting was equally as bad. Next.

Southpaw (2015)

Jake is da man

Really good film. A different way to see a Champ lose it all but still have the fight in him. Jake is probably one of the most underrated actors in the past 20 years. Super versitale and becomes the character vs seeing the actor playing a character. This movie isn't about boxing. It's about humbleness and knowing you never arrive. A must Watch film!!!! It has a lot of painful family elements, redemption, pain and hope for the future beyond just the physical gifts. A relatable story to guys and girls. Not just a film about boxing. It's a boxing version of the wrestler to a certain extent. Glad I saw it.

Jurassic World Dominion (2022)

My least favorite of all the series

I just found a plot to be kinda lame. There's always a company trying to exploit something and dominate the world. I don't understand how Dallas Howard can outrun a raptor, yet that same raptor clan was chasing Chris Pratt on a motorcycle throughout the whole city in keeping pace.

I just wanna see dinosaurs fight and that wasn't long enough either.

The Northman (2022)

Slow, drab, stupid

This could have been way better. So slow, traps flaring, just plain Awful with all that taken. Reminds me of my Dallas Cowboys. A total waste of my time. Don't watch it for the love of Valhalla.

Life of Crime 1984-2020 (2021)

Sad and raw

I watched This over several days and it started a little slow, But once I got going and I started going into each decade it was very sad and just awful. The patient said this filmmaker to cover this over 36 years and have the "misfortune" of picking the right people And covering their life really shows how powerful drugs can be. Broken homes, displaced kids and A very raw documentary. I would recommend anyone to watch this And for those who have unfortunately experienced this in your life (not me thankfully) I could see it opening up a lot of wounds.

Sebastian Maniscalco: Stay Hungry (2019 TV Special)

When you're laughing out loud alone at your house you know it's funny

This is my second time to watch the show. It's so funny to me and maybe not everyone else. It's relatable to me because I have immigrant parents and I lived in an intense household. So some of the stories and the things he says from his dad's experiences makes me laugh because I've been there too. It's also fairly clean in terms of language and content that's very rare. It's fun to watch.

Good story

It's a good story, but I don't understand why they try to paint the gangster in a decent picture. Like he saved the city or something. He's a gangster and he went federal prison. The documentary acts like this it's just a minor infraction for what he did with the team. I found that weak.

Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed (2021)

Well paced documentary

I never knew much about Bob Ross or really paid attention but watching a documentary made me feel sad for the family and that the greed of others and not honor was artist by paying royalties to the son Completely dishonors the late Bob Ross. Well worth watching.

It could be so much better

I am 1/2 way through episode 2 and it just drags out. It could have been done so much better. One of the crazier stories in the Country right after 9/11. It missed the mark in so many ways. 👎🏼

The killers must have been rookies. Too many things not handled. They couldn't kill a 6 month pregnant lady. Why did they kill a DA in Florida? What did the forensic accountant discover?
