People on IMDb have been off lately

The show is good. I binged it until like 2am. It is not a comedy I don't remember laughing at all. A few clever parts but it's a thriller/satire. If you are expecting The Office starring Christoph Waltz this isn't that. It's kinda dark and not in a funny ha ha way. The production value was high, the acting was good. The story wasn't necessarily revolutionary but it was entertaining and fresh.

The complaints are all saying it isn't a comedy or realistic. That doesn't make it bad lol 90% of entertainment is unrealistic. The story is cohesive and consistent the characters aren't "realistic" but they make sense in the world that the story takes place.

Visually unappealing - the lighting is terrible
12 February 2023
Most importantly. Why spend all the money to make a show and make 80% of the scenes so dark you can't see what's going on. Might as well have made it an audiobook. Every time something important is happening it's too dark to see.

Seriously you can't even watch this during the daytime because any light in the room and you can see nothing on the screen. It honestly makes it hard to enjoy it.

Boorman and Graydon were good characters. The rest were too whiny and annoying which is just kinda par for the course amongst any content geared towards Gen Z I guess. It couldn've been an 8 or 9 quite easily.

Reasonable review

The 1 stars are slightly exaggerating and the 10s are clearly trying to manipulate the rating. When the dust settles this show will be a 4/10. No I'm not some upset Witcher fan, I watched the two seasons. Never read the books or played the game. This is purely from a TV watchers perspective.

It clearly had potential but it was just bad. At no point was I connected to any characters, the plot development is way too fast at every step and everything that happens is just the justification of the plot, almost nothing seems logical or natural.

The writing as far as dialogue goes is amateur/hobbyist level. Super corny and melodramatic. Every cliche known to man is crammed into these four episodes and honestly the finale is an egregious offense.

I didn't even mention the effects of the music lol. That's all that needs to be said about it.

I liked the dwarf character and Michelle yeoh. I'd watch a spinoff of their adventures as long as no one else associated with this disaster was attached.

I miss Ryan Gosling
28 September 2022
I just watched this with 2022, I had never heard of it they didn't market it very well and in my opinion that is a shame.

I'm a refn fan. Drive is a top five favorite I've watched it 50x. This is more of what we know and love about his brain. It rubs you just wrong enough to be artistic. I loved the idea of a 10 hour movie and that's pretty much what this was and not many could pull it off.

No disrespect to Miles Teller. He did a fine job. But we all know that this role was written for Gosling. Many of the dead silent stares I just kept imagining how Gosling would've done it. No knock on him because it must be the hardest job in acting to fill all the space of the camera without saying or doing anything. And he does it.

The Gray Man (2022)

It's an action movie

It was entertaining and I hope they make another one. I truly don't understand how you could give this one star. The acting was good, the action was good, the plot was a little soft. But one star? Come on.

The movie doesn't take itself seriously so I'm not sure why everyone else is.

Will the movie change your life? No Will you remember it on your deathbed? No Will it entertain you for two hours? Yes.

Resident Evil (2022)

A disaster.
17 July 2022
First off lance Reddick is the man and even though this show sucks his performance was entertaining and quite good. He has more range then many more well known actors and hopefully this title doesn't drag him down. An even bigger fan than I was before.

Now onto the review. More Netflix AI written uninspired garbage. I don't even remember the resident evil games so this isn't some type of sacrilege to me it's just an artistic disaster. The writing is bad on a character, plot and world building level. The characters are only consistent in that they are annoying. I hate shows where the whole plot is driven by the main characters making completely unrealistic decisions. And that's what this is.

Please remake this with someone who loves zombies/apocalypse stories and I can forgive this. Let the teen angst writers make some teen angst show I won't watch.

First Kill (2022)

I had to write it
15 June 2022
The show is "entertaining" as in if you have nothing else to watch and you need to zone out and play on your phone it's perfect but it is not good in any real way. The main characters have absolutely no real personality, chemistry or story. The mom's are good. All the other acting is painful and the writing is at times the silliest I've ever heard, but not in a good ironic or satirical way. The CGI? I laughed out loud at least twice at how poor it is and rewound to laugh again. I'm writing this having just watched episode 6. Honestly seeing all the recent 10 star reviews stress me out about the judgement of Netflix users and makes clear why they consistently put out trash. 10 stars? Come on. If this gets renewed after they cancelled Teenage Bounty Hunters I'm gonna scream.

Bad
28 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Finished the series today.

Acting is bad - no charisma from anyone except moraine.

Dialogue is bad - the script is bad and made worse by no chemistry between ANY of the characters. We're supposed to believe Rand and egwene are in love? Same with lan and nynaeve! I fast forward the nynaeve scenes they are so cringe.

Plot is nonsensical and rushed. Things do not build logically upon one another at all.

Characters have no development, when characters "die" or "get left behind" I literally don't even care.

I don't believe any review above 5 stars actually watched the whole show. Sadly the showrunner appears to still have a job. I don't have any hope that this show will get better.
