The Cleaning Lady (2022)
It's about time
Happy to see Cambodians and Filipinos finally being represented on TV.
We really enjoy this show although at times, like any TV show it's just a tad unrealistic. We love the characters being portrayed by the fine actors, especially the two female leads. A special shout out goes to the star of last nights episode, Lou Diamond Phillips. I always considered LDP what I'd call an OK actor, until last nights where he took it to the next level There were a couple of scenes that really touched me, while in the car talking about his wife and at the end when reunited with his daughter. This tough old Marine doesn't shed a tear very frequently over a film or TV but damned if I didn't last night.
Next Level Chef (2022)
If it ain't broke.....
While we were fans of Hell's Kitchen, Ramsey's new Next Level Chef lost us after three episodes. The entire concept seems bizarre, maybe because it was stolen from a foreign film.
We were however, impressed with some of the chefs that were brought on with no formal training.
HK and Top Chef were the two best cooking shows on TV, as you can see by the ratings now its just TC.
Ray Donovan: The Movie (2022)
A proper finale
I'm very appreciative to all involved for giving us a proper finale.
As a big fan of the series I thoroughly enjoyed this film.
Loose ends were tied and series long questions were answered.
Motivated me to give the series another watch.
Lost Gold of WW2 (2019)
Interesting but predictable
I liked the story line and found it especially interesting because I'd spent some time in nearby Baguio City in 1980. If I'd only known! There is no treasure, not anymore. I believe the precious metals did exist in that mountain and it's possible some remnants may still exist somewhere, but the treasure was placed there around 75 years ago. Between the locals, relatives of the soldiers that put it there, Ferdinand Marcos and the treasure hunters it is long gone. It's unlikely anyone would ever claim to have found anything for fear of having it taken from them, Like local who had the two foot tall Golden Buddha he had discovered confiscated from him.
Car Fix (2012)
No thank you.
Just sat down to watch my favorite show and it didn't take the entire episode for me to realize the new Car Fix was not for me. I've been a fan of both Lou and Jared since they were both on different shows. I'd like to think that they both moved on to bigger and better things but it's quite possible it was a network decision. If the latter I think it will prove to be big mistake. Judging by other reviews, I'm not alone. With so few good shows for car guys it's just very disappointing. I'd leave zero stars if I could.
