Bride Flight (2008)
Simply Loved It
Normally I'm not a big fan of Dutch films, but when a friend of mine convinced me to see it and I actually saw the film, I was just blown away! Nothing like the usual Dutch films I was used too, it was way better! to start with the cast, in one word fantastic!! It was so refreshing to see other actors and actresses than we see in so many Dutch films. Waldemar Torenstra, Anna Drijver, Karina Smulders (and of course the other actors/actresses) were really at their best!
When I read the plot outline I was expecting some sort of chick-flick, but it turned out to be a story with much more depth than I was expecting. the way the story unfolds itself is very clever and Ben Sombogaart deserves a big compliment for this. Then the setting, New Zealand, is perfect for this story. The laid-back people in contrast to the strict catholic dutchies was very interesting to witness. and of course, New Zealand is a beautiful country which leads to great shots!
This all makes me very happy that I came over my prejudices and went to see the film! I wouldn't have wanted to miss it and I can recommend it to everyone!
Fastlane (2002)
Absolutely Love It!
Man did I enjoy watching this phenomenal and awesome show! I wished they wouldn't have canceled it! from the actors to the action to the great vibe, this was great TV! Deaqon, Van and Billy are beautifully cast and I think Tiffani Thiessen was a better choice than Heather Locklear (with all respect, because she also is a great actress) What also makes this show unique is the perfect balance of humor and action. The great one-liners and sarcasm from Deaqon and Van, the sometimes bitchy but friendly Billy, the always funny Aquarius, the mysterious capt. Parish and of course the annoying investigator for internal affairs Hill. The great cars, beautiful ladies and the adrenaline level raising action adds to the great writing of the show. I just don't get enough of Fastlane!! I hope one day they will continue the show!!!!!
The Dark Knight (2008)
get a grip on yourselves
honestly, the best batman movie that was made until now. BUT!! you'd have to be mental to say that this is the best movie ever made!!! I mean come on, this movie gets nowhere near movies like The Shawshank Redemption or The Godfather. In short, it does NOT deserve a place in the top 10 of IMDb's top 250. If you would say, Heath Ledger's appearance of The Joker is so good that is should be in the top 10 of best appearances, then I would totally agree with you.
as it was stated in previous comments, the movie is so full of plot lines and has some credibility flaws which make the movie overfull.
I always loved the Batman movies, including this one. So I'm not saying this because I just want to be pessimistic. it is a great movie and I enjoyed watching it, but a classic or a the best movie ever made?! I don't think so! absolutely not! I also agree with the people who commented on the appearance of Bale. He is just too stiff and arrogant. He lacks in character which makes him come of like a cold hearted asshole. which may be right considering Bruce Wayne's past, but Bale overdoes it in a way so that it looks like Bruce hasn't got any depths.
to conclude, an interesting, enjoyable movie which should never be confused or compared to real classics or top 10 movies. that would be an insult to those movies.
Ray (2004)
Ray
I found Ray an excellent film because it is so incredible intense! The role of Ray Charles performed by Jamie Foxx is fantastic, Jamie Foxx really ís Ray Charles, the way he moves, the way he talks is exceptional good! I also think this film gives a great view of how Ray Charles'life must have been, such a breathtaking story! The film gives a good view on both the good side of his life but also the less beautiful side of his life. I had such a great time watching this film, because the music, the ambiance and the humor are so brilliant that when you're done watching this film you'll regret it's over. I recommend this film to everyone, it's amazing
