The Underground Railroad (2021)
My score is based on the actor's performances not the series
So this show, to me was poorly written. I watched this because my bf recommended it to me, but I hate slave/pain stories. This show jumped from one thing to the next; it didn't flow. The whole entire thing was about a slave catcher stroking his own ego by catching a runaway. It was a disappointing show and I regret turning it on to watch knowing that it was based during slavery. There were so many beginnings for characters on the series but no ending. I don't understand how this got approved to be released. It dragged the entire time except for during portions of ep. 8/9 where Cora is in Indiana, other than that it was meh 😒. In an attempt to not tell the same slave story they made a big ass mess that didn't make sense. Only thing thoroughly explained is why the guy catches slaves and what really happened to coras mother. If I had to rate the show on the storylines alone, it would be 1/10, but the actors understood the piss poor assignment and tried their best to deliver such a horrible story. Great job to the actors, but boo to the series.
Spell (2020)
Good thriller
I honestly like Omari as an actor and he did well in this thriller. Underrated movie, I enjoyed it! There were some holes in the movie like where was the family being held? Why was the lady wanting to sacrifice him and his family? I have many questions, but overall I liked it.
Ruthless (2020)
Disappointment
The acting is horrible. The storylines drag on, and the dialogue is so horrible I cannot even understand how there are so many episodes. I am so disappointed in this series especially since this is a TP show.
Boomerang (2019)
I love this show!
BET sometimes can be a hit or miss when it comes to scripted shows. This show is well scripted, well casted, and is relatable to the current times. It revolves around black culture and the things we face on a daily. Love it!!!
