Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 (2010)
loved it :)
As someone who hadn't particularly enjoyed David Yates style of directing before (hated OOTP) I was slightly disappointed to hear that he would be directing Deathly Hallows, I thought he might change things around too much and focus too much on the wrong things.
However, after coming out of the movie this morning I was not disappointed. Deathly Hallows was awesome, definitely my absolute favourite of the franchise so far. They stay true to the book, which hasn't really been done properly since Chamber of Secrets and do well to integrate parts of the story that are important in DH but may not have been seen in the movies before.
A lot of it (the chase scene, Godrics Hollow, Malfoy Manor) was exactly how I imagined it to be in my head, full of suspense and actually quite scary, even though I knew what happened I was still holding my breath when Harry was trapped under the frozen lake!
The acting is the best it has ever been, Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson are superb, its amazing to see how much their acting has come along since the first couple of movies. Emma Watson especially puts in a great performance!
There are 2 reasons why I have given this a nine, one is that there are parts of it that are a bit cheesy, Harry & Hermione dancing anyone? The other is just that I don't want to wait eight months to see the second part!
90210 (2008)
alright.
First of all I've never seen the original Beverly Hills 90210 so I can't really compare. All I can do is comment on what I have seen in 90210.
After not really liking the first few episodes I was ready to give up on the show, until I came on the IMDb message-boards and read people saying how it got better as the show goes on, so I decided to carry on watching and they were right, the show did improve.
The only thing that really bugs me with the show is how the actors/actresses are blatantly older than their parts, I mean there is no way Annalynne McCord looks 16 as her character Naomi is meant to be.
It's not brilliant (I still like Gossip Girl and The O.C. a lot better) but the show is watchable, it has some good story lines and the characters are beginning to get a little bit more interesting now as well.
Hannah Montana: The Movie (2009)
impressed
Hannah Montana: The Movie is the perfect movie if your looking for something light, entertaining and fun. Yes, some parts are a little cheesy (especially at the end when their telling her to carry on being Hannah Montana), but that is only to be expected seen as the films main audience is the younger generation, apart from that it is a good family movie with catchy songs (the Hoedown Throwdown anyone?)
I liked the fact that they didn't make it like a 90 minute episode of the show, instead it provides a deeper plot and gives out good messages of remembering where you came from and remembering to be yourself. I was also very impressed with Miley Cyrus', Lucas Till's and Emily Osment's acting.
Overall, I think it was a very good movie, the only reason I give it a 9/10 is because of the absence of Mitchell Musso aka Oliver, who is my favourite character.
Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging (2008)
was good.
I went to see this with a group of friends, two of whom had read the books and loved them and the rest of us who hadn't even heard of the books until the movie came out.
tbh, at first i didn't really think the movie was that good, i liked the storyline and everything but I thought the acting was pretty poor. However, having read the books after seeing the movie I have changed my mind, the 'ace gang' (although not the best actresses), especially Georgia are portrayed perfectly. I would like to have seen more of Libby's craziness & Angus though, because the movie is called 'Angus, Thongs & Perfect Snogging', I would've liked to have seen more of Angus.
Having said this I would actually recommend the movie, its light & quite funny, I will get it on DVD when it came out.
High School Musical 3: Senior Year (2008)
I really like it
Having liked the 2 previous HSM movies I was really looking forward to Senior Year & it didn't disappoint!
The acting had improved, the dance routines were amazing & i really liked the chemistry between all the main cast. There was a lot more chemistry between them all in this movie than there has been in the previous movies.
However, one thing I didn't really understand is that Gabriella was there one minute & then just seemed to disappear the next to university. And how did Troy manage to travel over 1000 miles in a night & in a car that didn't work properly & they managed to get back in time for the musical. I also thought there were too many Troy/Gabriella duets.
but, the movie was the perfect way to end the HSM story & i would recommend it to fans! but please don't make a 4th one! it wouldn't be the same without the original cast!
Sabrina the Teenage Witch (1996)
Brilliant show, in it's day
I used to love Sabrina The Teenage Witch and have seen every single episode. I remember when I used to sit at 6pm every night and wait for it to come on Nickelodeon, however when Sabrina left high school the show began to go downhill. The best series has to be when she was friends with Valerie (I'm not sure which one that is). From there the next series (friends with Dreama) was still really good, but when she left high school it just didn't seem right. All the main characters seemed to have left, which meant that it didn't have as much of the old "sparkle", however the first series where Sabrina is in college is still relatively good and watchable, however when her aunt's leave and Sabrina moves into their house it just isn't right. She is no longer a teenager, so therefore the name of the show isn't right and without Hilda and Zelda and Josh the show just doesn't seem right, especially when Sabrina nearly marries someone that isn't Harvey. Thank goodness he came through in the last five minutes of the last episode to take her away. All in all I still love to watch the old episodes of Sabrina the Teenage Witch, but I think the writers took it too far and should have left it with Sabrina leaving high school. Because after that the show definitely lost some of it's magic
Hannah Montana (2006)
brilliant
Hannah Montana is one of my favourite TV shows. I first discovered it when I was on holiday in Florida and got totally hooked when I was over there. Luckily enough for me the Disney Channel in the UK started playing it around two weeks after I got back from my holiday. The humour in it is great and the relationship that Miley and Lily have in the play is very realistic. Having Robbie Ray playing Miley's Dad in the programme makes their relationship seem more real life. The songs are brilliant too and the way that Miley/Hannah copes with having a double life is really good. The idea of the show is totally original and nothing will compare to it. Definitely one of my favourite shows. I hope the second series is just as good as the first.
The O.C. (2003)
Brilliant
I have to admit, a couple of years ago I was sick of seeing THE OC in every magazine that I picked up and absolutely hated it. However, after watching an episode of the second series I began to realise how good it actually was, and now half way through the fourth series I'm totally hooked and think it's absolutely amazing. For all the people that think it's a programme full of rich kids, their right because it is. But that's what makes the show so amazing. It's highly witty and each of the characters have their own special ability to add something special to the show, so much so that if any left the show would never be the same without them. All in all it will be a very sad time when The OC finally finishes over here in the UK.
Just My Luck (2006)
it was OK...
Not the best movie I've ever seen, the plot was way too predictable and although i'm a massive McFly fan they can't really act...but it was still nice to see them up on the big screen.
I'm a fan of Lindsay Lohan so would've probably seen it anyway but it was nowhere near as good as Mean Girls or Herbie. Chris Pine is quite good in it. I think it was two obvious what was going to happen and definitely isn't the best movie Lohan has ever done.
McFly were the best thing in it by way.
I would recommend it to McFly fans as it's a chance to see them but it's not that brilliant movie
