White House Farm (2020)
Sound of axes grinding?
A perfectly decent crime drama which clearly states that it's based on real events, it does not claim to be a forensic analysis of what actually happened. Those that are upset that it's 'not true' and are being highly critical do seem to have an axe to grind.
The productions use of the landscape and the deserted house as a silent witness is both atmospheric and calming in the face of the alarming and overwrought lives of the characters.
My only major gripe so far came in episode three with the ridiculous depiction of Witham railway station. It is farcical to portray it as some idyllic rural backwater out of the nineteen fifties when Witham is a large town on the Great Eastern intercity mainline. That did make me question the credibility of the producers.
