Bet you won't guess the ending...... no seriously you won't

Whoa..... now this is one f&%*@d up little movie, I mean in the sense that it's sick, twisted, perverted even. First you got the innocent little girl, Anna, who witnesses her mother death and is supposedly haunted by her and ends up being the one responsible for her mothers death and than there is dads new girlfriend (Rachel) who at one point was moms nurse, now shes banging dad and I could swear that she's "the bad guy" and turns up innocent (relatively......oh and dead). So basically that's why I for one wouldn't have thought that it will all end in blood, Anna killing everything in sight. I wouldn't call it exactly a horror, more like a thriller as true horror scenes were scarce. Other than that the plot is fairly good, acting is OK, well made, overall enjoyable.

Suspenseful??.....yeah... a little to suspenseful for this kind of documentary

The director clearly wants this to be a sensational piece rather than a scientific one. I mean some scenes clearly are taken from a crime movie for example the Gino Sandri scene (where the guy is threatened in a hand note by someone from the café in which the interview takes place), Nicolas Haywood (wow now this bloke in awesome....i mean talk about acting....with the slow talk and the long pauses LOL)or Ben Hammott (a guy who digs up all kinds of "authentic clues" near a church in France).A little to convenient for my taste. Way to obvious. As for the story itself, absolute BS IMHO, based on circumstantial evidence, "ancient" coded texts, heretic madmen. I mean come on....no hard evidence....none. Just speculation,outrageous cripted maps, outrageous connections and deductions, all based on the eledged findings of a mad priest (which BTW no one knows what he found yet some claim to have) thus dragging this ridiculous conspiracy theory further. I have no doubt that the Vatican are not that saint at all and that they are one of the most manipulative powers in the world, but what goes on in this "film" is mind-blowingly SF and thriller-like all for the sake of sensational.

Val Kilmer rocks

Definitely a movie worth watching. Val Kilmer is such a complex and an accomplished actor that this movie fits him like a glove. The story itself is an action - crime thriller (where Kilmer is an semi-high profile thief that plans on retiring "en fanfare") interweaved with the drama of his personal life, which he plans on rebuilding by breaking up with his foreign girl-friend and start over with his ex-wife (Marg Helgenberger) and daughter he knows so little. These two plans come together in Echo Park where his last job comes down. The only thing I don't understand is that Antoine kid....his character was a little confusing and I didn't quite get what his role in the movie was. Other than that, acting is great, script is OK i guess, keen on details, overall the movie is very enjoyable...at least for me it was.....

Let me say first off that I'm not into that whole action-thriller-nail biting-under ware staining kinda movie....which is OK because this film is more of a drama than anything else. It kinda reminded me of "The Shawshank Redemption" (another great movie) with Stephen Dorff being Tim Robbins and Val Kilmer being Morgan Freeman (the comparison is a little bit forced but still valid with the two movies plots being somewhat similar). The movie delivers a very diverse emotional palette, with tear breaking scenes all the way to explicit hardcore violence thanks to incredible acting by Dorff, Kilmer and Perrineau, truly bringing their characters to life. All in all, one of the best action dramas i've seen.....definitely a must see movie.
