Mafia Mamma (2023)

It's not that bad

Hello,

I'm surprised by this agressive reviews.

The title, the topic everything is quite clear, its a light and funny movie about a soccer mom who becomes a maffia boss by accident.

If you want a strong, intense, serious, deep, engaging movie, go somewhere else, no discussion.

If you want to spend a light and at moments funny time, it's not a so bad option.

The acting is correct, the scenario.. well... ok ok... the action is .. well ok, of course there is no suspens (because all the movie is in the title) and I'm in love with Monica Bellucci so ...its not a "bad" movie, it's a very "light" one.

Locked Down (I) (2021)

A very good and original "covid movie"

The heist is just an excuse, this a film about couple, relationship, love, hate in the context of a pandemic lockdown.. something we have all more or less experienced. It's a refreshing film, really pleasant. The actors are good, and Anne Hathaway is excellent (as always).

Very inovative take on the wonderwoman figure

I think the very bad reviews come from viewers understanding the film like an usual war movie, with plot, special effects and so on. It's not. It's an original, poetic movie, not the movie of the year, but highly enjoyable. Original because the movie take a different route than the usual wonderwoman stuff... I really liked it, and as usual Chloë Grace Moretz is excellent.

Code 8 (2019)

A mutant movie done right

Code 8 is a mix of Blade Runner (for the music style and the image texture and color) and X-Men for the scenario. It's a very good movie. It's a little bit like if the director and the producers said « ok teenagers have the X-Men saga, let's do something around the same idea but for adults ». The are no jaw dropping special effects, mutants (called "person with abilities" in the movie) dont do funky stuff.. every body acts great.. it's the kind of sci-fi movie that will very likely go unnoticed and it's a shame, it deserves much much more.

The Daytrippers (1996)

Great idea only half executed

On the paper this film est a comedy. And it is. V-But the underlying idea is far ambitious than that. And for some reason (predictor ?) the film limits itself to the comedy part. As a result it ends when things start to become interesting. At the end, it's a pleasant comedy.. that could have been a real great movie on a topic that is usually left aside.
